That probably can't be helped since its a roof beam and the roof being historic landmark can't be touched and if you are seated its probably not that bad. You should see what the interier looked like before it was redone inside.
So they were not able to dig down any further to avoid those sight lines? Guess that’s the issue when you have to keep that roof even for $1 billion.

It is the exact the same design as the ACC with the seating behind the pressbox blocking the scoreboard, they have TVs up there instead.

Tod Leiweke talks about the arena and team: here. https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aH...d=0CAUQkfYCahcKEwjgmri9sbbzAhUAAAAAHQAAAAAQLA

Says it will have great sightlines, is steep and will have good acoustics for concerts, along with a loud atmosphere for games. Specific dedicated changing rooms for hockey, NBA, WNBA and musicians (with recording studio in it). Big access to be able to host as many concerts as quick as possible. Basically hinted that after spending $1.2 billion on a new arena (bar the roof), they expect the Sonics at some point to be back.

Thinks the Kraken will have a solid team. Vegas has created unrealistic expectations and GM's have clued on to it. Expects the Kraken to be a perennial play off team by year 3 and will have the cap flexibility to compete, owners wants to spend right up to the cap.

Says the Northgate Iceplex is the best in the league and Ron Francis helped design it. Could have just bought an existing rink and renovated it but want it state of the art to attract the best free agent players with medical clinic etc. Used the Seahawks and the V-Mac facility as an example.

For what the team wanted to do buying an existing one wouldn't work. Not enough land and Seattle proper was in need of actually rinks

This thing is going to be ready right?

Right?
Nope. Not gonna be finished. So the team is renting a really big cooling fan that they are going to blow on Green Lake. After the lake freezes, they’ll play there. Seating is at the old Aqua Theater. If it was good enough for Led Zeppelin, it’s good enough for the Kraken.

The old Aqua Theater was twice the size back then before they tore half of it down ;)

I think it will be ready by the 23rd because Coldplay announced a concert at CPA (Climate pledge arena) on the 22nd of October for a little test run before opening night
