If he actually ever does turn into an NHL commodity, terrible asset management by Botts. There was no reason not to avoid this situation with a 2-way contract when they made him play on an AHL deal.

Was he an asset in Rochester or replaceable? His stats look pretty meh. Definitely not future NHL material.

He wasn't going to make the Sabres anyways, I don't think this is a knock on Buffalo but rather him trying to do what's best for his career to get in the NHL.

He was an asset for the Amerks. Shitty to see him go but if he thinks he can pull a Blackwell, I have no problem.
