Thanks Scoutman!

A few questions:

1- Whatever happened to Blake Jamieson? Stagnation?
2- What would you say is Charlebois' biggest weakness right now?
3- Have you seen Joël Teasdale play? If so, how far is he from your top-30?

Blake Jamieson when i saw him at the prep school this year did not look as dominant as he did last year...

Charlebois is pretty complete for his age, i have to say for a kid who is complete at that age the weaknesses are pretty much get ironed out with time....he is strong for his age, super smart, great skater, excellent puck skills, pin point passing, strong, plays well in own end, plays well on offense, really hard to point ouot a weakness for his age.

yes I have seen Joel Teasdale play he is a very good player, very good shooter, smart player. He is on the fence for me to rank high at the moment, he is one i want to see in midget before i rank him super high.

Hey scoutman I wanted to add onto these question. How do Mathieu Charlebois and Adam Thilander stack up against the top 2 defensemen from 2016 in Sean Day and Chad Krys or maybe Jakob Chychrun . I'd like too see how you would rank Day, Krys, Chychrun, Charlebois and Thilander in terms of potential? Also were do you have Jake Harrison ranked. I thought he was supposed to be Better than Nolan Kneed. Also isn't Ryan Lindgren 2016 eligible i thought his birthday was February 1998 and could you give a brief scouting report on Patrick Khoderenko and is there a current nhler he might compare to? Is Drake Lafontaine good enough to get EPS into the ohl next seasonAnd lastly do u maybe have an updat oed. 2016 ranking? Thanks scoutman your the best.

Thilander now has been changed to forward.....Chad Krys is pretty awsome with the puck, but Charlebois is better in his own end, bigger, smarter.........Day and Charlebois well day is a better skater but no where close to how smart Charlebois is and Charlebois overall game dewarfs Day...but Day is better in the offensive end.......

He is listed born in February 2nd, 1998 everywhere so doesn't that make him 2016?

on my scouting sheets given to us in Shattuck they must have his birthday backwards....they have it listed as November 2, 1998....I just checked rinknet and shattuck site and both have it Feb11th, 98 so I was always going by the scouting sheets and guess for the last 2 years shattuck never fixed the mistake on their scouting sheets with him lol...oh well it happens. Your right 2016.

do you know how good a player Matthew Strome is? I think he's with the Marlies.

I asked our Ontario scout what he thought of Matthew and I will be seeing him play in about a month....and he thinks he is the best 99 in Ontario...so i will be putting another list out in november and things will be changing im sure.

Derek Gentile 15th? You're cracked ;) long ways away though, we'll see.

Also don't know where you got this:

our european scout has been telling me they are playing him on forward position and he is doing well...he is probably still listed as a on their site but they could be trying him out and if it works he could stay, i trust our euro scout (really european helper) he he is also an NHL scout too.

Gentile 15th I see a lot of skill in him, I think he has a chance to challenge for a top 15 spot when all is said and done.

Thanks for the post Scoutman. Still getting to know that age group down here in New England. Finally feel that I have a grasp on the 98's.

Let me throw out a few names that I've seen that might be worth keeping an eye on. In no particular order.

Cayden Primeau -- Goalie, Team Comcast. 6'1 155 (Son of Keith)
Matt Allen -- Forward, Selects Academy. unknown H/W (~5'10 150)
Max Gildon -- Defense, Dallas Stars. 6-2 155
Callan Foote -- Defense, Colorado Thunderbirds. 5'11 160

That doesn't surprise me. I saw him a while back and was extremely impressed.

This is the group that's eligible for that summer mentorship camp (at least the Canadians), right?

You are correct, as long as they are 99 born. Late 98 (Sept 16th -> ) were eligible last year for All-Canadians but are 2017 NHL Draft eligible.

I dont know where the info comes that Thilander plays forward. He's always been as D in the lineups for all games this season.

Btw, it looks like he's growing a stache, and he just turned 15. Not a very impressive one, but still.

Maybe stat wizards know if there's some kind of record for "Youngest player to grow facial hair".

Is Patrick Khodorenko headed towards college? I know he was drafted in the second round of this past bantam draft yet is rated first on your list. How does he compare to Tyler Benson? (both 98s)

That's nothing lol I could have beat that at 15... A guy I played with in Atom had a mustache but the furthest he got was Jr. B

Do you think any of these players will get exceptional player status next season. Just going off your list I'd have to say that Brady Gilmour, Drake LaFontaine, or maybe even Matthew Strome would have the best chance. What do you guys think?
