Perfect. Glad they didn't commit long term to him right away making extending Hall impossible. Let's be real here, at the end of the day 99% of people would be committing long term to Taylor Hall, not Sam Reinhart. Even with the 3 and a half year age difference.

Good deal, sets us up well considering the circumstances. Still under team control and doesn't stress the cap more than it should.

Sounds good to me, though I'm a little disappointed he didn't make us regret that last two-year deal like so many people here said he would.

1-year makes sense given the circumstances. I doubt Reinhart (or many other players) are interested in signing long-term deals at a time when spending is down and the cap is flat. For the Sabres, he's still an RFA, and we'll have good cap flexibility next summer.

Great to see your Team being competently Managed.

Like many, I had my doubts about the hire & the extensive reductions in staffing, but it’s sure looking great so far.

And not just that, he's still RFA after this deal.

So even if we choose Hall over Reinhart, he's still gonna have a TON of trade value on the market.
That should be RoR circa 2015 trade value. RoR had 1 season left before UFA and still returned at the time a high end top D prospect, a top 2 way C prospect, the first pick in round 2 and a boom bust in Grigs.

I would he happy with a return like this plus a Hall 6 year deal.

Glad to have Sam still. I don't see his spot as competing with Hall; there's no way Hall is staying around.
