He'll finish up his contract/get bought out and then head to Europe.
Agreed.

So if he is sent down and plays 30 days in the AHL does it mean he can be traded or not?
Confused what rules and changes apply when you are on a one way and sent down.
So your pretty much saying if he gets sent down he would be used as a trade piece and would likely see time if there were any injuries. So some teams might load up their AHL teams via trades etc if they are playoff bound?he can be traded anytime whether he is on the ahl or nhl roster.
the 30 day issue is it looks like they waived him so he would be ahl eligible which makes him more attractive to a contender team to acquire him as depth piece since they do not have to give him an nhl roster spot if they acquire him.
most contenders are carrying a full roster of players they value right now and do not necessarily want to waive or demote someone to make room for a spooner type player they will only play if they have injuries.
Talent wise it seems like he has it but is it something with his personality or what can't figure it out.Someone on the Bruins board summed up Spooner perfectly. He's a 2.5 Center. Not skilled or consistent enough offensively to be a 2C on a good team, but is too much of a disaster defensively to be a 3C.
Not sure how he was being used in EDM, but he's not a great winger either since he doesn't shoot enough.
Streaky player, making more than he should. Not sure where he fits on a good team. He probably ends up somewhere like FLA and puts 40-50 points up a year, playing no D.

Meaning in you have a one way contract and are sent down and play in the AHL then what? Can you be traded or called up does the 30 day rule apply?so they paper waived the guy then called him up 34 days before the trade deadline.
clearing waivers lasts for 30 days on the active roster.
which means they have to either send him down for real at some point for at least 4 days or trade him no later than 4 days before the tdl.
After signing with the KHL side Jaroslavl this summer,...Ty Rattie gone after 16 games, 3 goals, 6 assists.
Its one of those KHL things; foreigner, doesn't score enough goals, you get kicked out.
Still young player thou, 25?, 26?. Wonder anyone interested to sign him.

I hope Spooner sees this post. It's the only time he'll be included in a group like that.Look at all the talent Boston as walk away from, Thornton, Kessel, Sequin, Wheeler, Hamilton, Spooner, etc... they all have talent but obviously are or were selfish players at one time. If you think your better then the team in Boston, usually your a gone man. What ever the reason.

Wheeler is kind of a glaring exception to what you're trying to profess here. Boston acquired him AFTER he held out from signing with another team. They later traded him for peverley in a push for the cup.
Thornton wasn't really traded for attitude reasons either, not sure where this is coming from.
Kessel also didn't hold himself above the team, he just wanted to be paid like the 38 goals scorer he was. He's kind of an awkward guy I guess?
Hamilton was traded because he "didn't fit the culture of the team" (and wanted to be paid fairly), which can only be considered a compliment to him.
Spooner was traded because he sucks.
I guess I'll give you Seguin, guy put partying above the team. You should probably get some of your nhl news from non-boston sources though. Not everyone who leaves the bruins was secretly a *******.
