Post-Game Talk: Ryan Miller Yaps at Rico; Devils lose in SO

Hi, I come in peace (I swear).
I was not able to watch or even listen to the game because I had to work so I have no idea of what happened during the game. As Im reading it looks like the Sabres were throwing cheap shots which I can believe but them coming from Ennis is a bit odd. People also said their was taunting? Can someone give me a rundown with some specifics? Im just curious.

To be fair, if we won and buffalo fans were pissed off, i wouldnt ask devils fans what happened. you would just get a "they are just mad they lost."

for an honest answer i would go to buffalo and say why are you guys so pissed.

I was really pissed after this loss because of three things.

We played like crap more then we stepped up.

the refs were horrible (granted that didnt cost us the game because it went both ways)

And Miller, I hate Miller. i hated him before this game for his cheap shots and whining. then watching him grab Bernier by the back of the head and shoving his face with all his weight into the ice made me hate more then you should hate someone in sports.

But other than all that, it was a crap game we should have won, didnt, and then got taunted like it was a blow out to rub it in.

There's no way Miller doesn't start Thursday, that would be the ultimate weenie move. As it is I'm already worried this game is going to be what turns around Buffalo's season, and they'll talk about how Miller and the Sabres 'didn't take any crap'.

Actually it is boarding...You can't tag someone in the numbers when their back is turned to the boards...No matter how big/small they are, their head is going to go into the glass, which is a dangerous play. First off, I'm not being a goon. I actually have more talent than that.



But as far as him "wanting a devs perspective"? Read his post again.

He is not saying "Hey! I didn't see the game and though I did hear about it from my fellow Sabres fans, I'd like to hear Devs fans' take on what happened".


What he said was that he didn't see the game and he is asking us to tell him about it and that's it. Maybe he did ask about the game over at his board but that's not the impression I got from his post.

I'd rather have no-calls than ticky tack garbage.

The reason the refs sucked last night was because they called ticky tack crap on Zidlicky, the weak boarding call on whoever hit Matteau, etc, but they also blatantly missed Kovy getting cross checked, Tallinder boarding someone in OT, and Ott cross checking Henrique.

If refs are calling everything, they're sissies. If they call nothing, they're losing control. If they call everything and then call nothing in the same game, they are a terrible officiating crew (at least for the game.)

I'm not expert, but I think mods are assigned to a board and pretty much keep on eye on things there (you can see a list of mods on the top line of whatever board you're on.)

If you report a post, a message gets sent to some mods that can do what they feel from that point.

Sabres mods are probably not going to come here, just like I wouldn't expect guys like RG and Cowbell to babysit us on the Buffalo board, unless someone reported a post and they responded (but I think that only applies to the Global Mods.)

If you go to their GDT though, a Sabres mod did set them straight.

I know it isn't kosher to blame goaltending, but Moose has not been good the past couple games. His play against Kane helped cost us the game last Sunday, while he was directly responsible for the goal off of Byfuglien's rush. Didn't watch yesterday.

The Devils seem to be outshooting and out possessing their opponents.

Didn't watch the game but that pass from Matteau on Loki's goal was sick.

I thought he looked a lot more confident against Winnipeg the other night too. I think the kid's coming around.

he did but i didnt see a good enough replay. i think from what i saw live Hedberg was out of the crease enough to lose his privilege. which im fine with if they keep calling it that way.

goalies get too much privilege as it is, gives room for guys like miller to run up to the blue line like a skater and then cry when hes hit like one.

Thanks apice3 that clears up many questions. However I can't see turning in anyone in unless they absolutely need to be. I'm quite sure our Mods catch it and put a stop to it.

Doing what Miller did is just such an anti-hockey thing. Even in ****ing beer league you get blasted for doing things like that. Once I actually taunted a guy after we scored, I had been the in front of goal guy and he was crosschecking me like mad, right in that mid spot in the back between the pants and chest-protector where there is no protection and after we scored I I turned to him and told him there you go *********. God did I hear it from their bench, I felt so bad. I went and apologized before next face-off though. You just don't do these things.
