I find it funny the picture used, because Kessler would do no more for us than couturier would
besides that whole "offense" thing...

4 more points. I'll take the 21 year old on the way up over the soon to be 30 yr old on his way down with the "better" offense.
I know you hate Homer, but when has Homer ever traded a young guy for a player at the same position who would likely be worse?
I see a picture of Sean Couturier. There is no way I'm wasting time reading that article.
You don't need the quotes around better.
Kesler is the better offensive player.
That's ALL I am saying.
The other upside to Kesler (and again, I'm only interested to a certain price point) is that it would free Couturier up to play more balanced minutes instead of strictly PK and tough ES opponents. That burden could be shared with Kesler (and to a lesser degree Laughton) to the benefit of all 3.
I love Kesler, but the fit just isn't there for where our club is positioned right now.
I would consider a straight up schenn swap, contingent on removal of lecavalier, but still probably prefer not to

That was exactly what I did
How about VL for Kessler
sure and lets throw in your boy Rinaldo while we are at it.
Luckily Holmgren is not the GM anymore.....
Come on, you know they would have to add to that.
An article about a Kesler trade centering around Couturier? LOL, I'm not even going to click on it. That is such *********, total garbage. I'm sure Timmy P. will pick up on this and it will be on CSN tomorrow, though.
The Flyers have too many centers. Even if they lost one, they don’t need another -- they need a scoring left wing, but even before that, they need a sturdy, No. 1 defenseman who can play 21 minutes a night.
And that’s a position that is going to be very tough to fill.
Kimmo Timonen could be re-signed, but "if" that scenario occurs, it won’t be anywhere near the $6 million he earned last season.
Hextall admitted defense is a priority in his first offseason. Soon we’ll discover just how much a priority the position truly represents.
For now, however, any thoughts of Ryan Kesler remain absurd to justify on multiple levels.
Yeah, that's not clear in the slightest. Couturier drew harder assignments and had less PP time but was only 4 points shy of Kesler. In fact, Couturier outproduced Kesler at even strength; Kesler had 26 ES points, Couturier had 31.
