Alex Ovechkin played in the RSL at the age of 16. It's not unprecedented for a high-profile prospect to receive that opportunity.
I think, if Michkov's 2020-21 season goes well, it might be something to consider.

Ovechkin was almost 17, and he was way more mature physically, than Michkov.
After watching the game, I can say, Michkov was obviously the best player on the ice, despite being the youngest one. Pretty typical for him, but this time there were even 2000 year players on the ice. He's getting used to the MHL, and going to be better and better.

SKA Varyagi is probably the worst MHL team (and certainly the youngest one), so it's hard to score points on it for Michkov. The only other good kid on the team is Tankov, who's pretty big and amazing skater and stickhandler, but his IQ isn't impressive. Michkov's IQ is probably one of the best in the league (his passes are almost as good as his hands), but there is nobody to score on the team. If he continued to play with Spiridonov and Khusnutdinov, he would have scored way more points already.
On the other hand, he plays 20+ min every game (22:51 today, Tankov with 2nd most amongst forward 22:01, and Tankov is already 18.5 yo), which is probably even more important, than points.

How does he look through the game? Does he have enough stamina to play last minutes of the game? How does he look physically against big boys?
Which is not surprising given so many players are on the big team from the SKA system
Meaning: after the main SKA cast returns both SKA's MHL teams will look very different. So even if Michkov stays on the Varyagi he will get a better supporting cast.
Well, he looked kinda gassed closer to the game's end.. I'd say, playing almost 23 min/game is too much for him, they should cut his TOI a bit.

It would be very difficult for a 17 year old to crack a roster let alone 16 year old, especially on a team like Russia. The ones who cracked rosters at 17 were much more physically mature than Michkov, a year older , and most do not have a a big impact. It is a big step up from juniors and I don't know if Michkov has the skating or physical maturity yet. Most forget he is still only 15.
SKA-1946 doesn't play, because of most its players were moved to SKA and SKA Neva to substitute those, who got COVID.
He isn't ready yet to play vs world's best U20 players. I'm 99% sure, he'll play the next year, though. And I'm 100% sure, he'll play at the U18, he leads the MHL in scoring amongst U18 players.
SKA has two teams in the MHL SKA1946 being the A and Varyagi being the B. Players are oftem moved between them. So will be Michkov depending on the overall situation and his development. Right now all the best junior players who are usually on the SKA1946 are moved to the KHL during SKA quarantines a lot of players because of COVID. SKA1946's next game was scheduled for 26th September and after that 7th October.
Obviously the KHL is the priority and it's schedule is kept intact as much as possible, while VHL and MHL games get postponed.
It's just SKA thinks they are better suited playing skilled MHLers rather than their VHL players. Also in their last game they played three VHL defencemen and two VHL forwards.
SKA right now is a mix of:
7 roster regulars(two of them being Podkolzin and Morozov 19 and 20y.o. respectively)
5 VHL regulars
5 MHL regulars
3 NA imports who might fit in in VHL/MHL once all is back to normal.
A SKA specialty is that their VHL roster is fairly young. The majority are 2000-2002 born and some of them switch between VHL and MHL a lot too. That makes that SKA team look so young while there are in fact a lot of KHL and VHL regulars on that roster.
