Barkov/Laine/Dahlin/Michkov are on the same draft.

My money is on Michkov being selected last

It’s funny how Bedard has to go to the moon and back to back up generational status and Michkov just gets it

I personally don't give a damn where Michkov will be picked, only about what career he's going to have. But your arguments don't have any logic... basically you have no arguments actually.

Why I don’t have?

You try to talk him up with comparing him to ”recent” 2nd round, 5th round or undrafted players to prove how he’s a generational prospect.

But yes the main thing is how he’ll end up.
Just about impossible to call him a generational prospect

Were Ovechkin and Malkin "5th rounders"?

Those are guys from 20 years ago and from a different league.

Russia hasn’t produced any top tier prospect for years outside of Svec and he played in the OHL so it’s not really difficult to say Michkov is the best Russian prospect for how many years.
Still doesn’t make him generational.

No way Barkov does. Most people didn't think he would go top 2 in his own draft

Nobody respected the Finns at the time because they were a mess and had been a mess.
Go look at the prospects before and after Barkov.
Barkov is the start of the golden era when Finland made major changes to their development program

Barkov went close to ppg in Liiga during a NHL lockout. Nobody does that

In todays draft the hype would be insane for him

Edit.
Liiga had about 25 NHL players during Barkovs draft year.

Yeah he'd go last out of the bunch, regardless of whether it's deserved or not.

Barkov and Dahlin play the more important positions, and Laine is much bigger.

Of course the league where Panarin went undrafted, Kucherov was picked in the 2nd and Kaprizov in the 5th can draft Michkov outside top10. Will it impact his talent, skills and career though?

Michkov projects to be a better player than all 3 but you are probably right in that he is selected last due to contract status and nationality

Projections and what they actually are different things.

Dahlin also had some generational Dprospect hype, Laine had insane hype after being Liiga playoffs MVP& WC MVP.
Barkov was one of the best players in Liiga at 17 during an NHL lockout.

Michkov could end up as the best, that doesn’t mean he’s today a generational prospect.
As I didn’t consider either of the Finns as generational prospects either

So now we have two active threads about Michkov. He is that good.
We need different themes...

Part 4 - hockey IQ - greatest of all time or just greatest Russian hockey IQ of all time?
Part 5 - Physical build - too strong and fast or too slow and needs to workout!
Part 6 - VHL exploits
Part 7 - MHL exploits
Part 8 - KHL exploits part 1 (SKA)
Part 9 - KHL exploits part 2 (SOCHI)
Part 10 - is he generational?
Part 11 - is he already better than everyone in the NHL today?
Part 12 - Connor Bedard who?
Part 13 - I can't believe Fantilie or Carlson are even in the conversation!
Part 14 - Rusophobia!
Part 15 - international results prior to Russian ban

He's a very complex prospect!
