If it's a 1 year 'show me' deal, that would be more astute especially given his injury last season. He's been above .900 for virtually his entire NHL career -- 3 seasons where he was not, including last year. Yeah, he's a gamble and at his age in decline but so long as it's not some anvil contract with term it's an ok stop gap.

I mean I'm not expecting him to hit many bonuses but I guess you have to plan around them regardless.

Probably a big bonus if they win the cup, which they won't, so he'll probably mostly just get base salary.
