- Zero worries about Draisaitl getting an offer sheet. A team that needs a 1C will have to offer more than 10 million to get the Oilers to even consider not matching. Not many teams have that kind of cap space right now.
- Sign Jagr on a cheap 1 year deal already. It also forces JP to earn a spot.
- Yakupov signing with Colorado is a good move for him. He won't have to worry about playing defence and there space in the top 6 for him, especially after Duchene gets traded. He could possibly inflate his point totals.
- Sign Franson also for 1 year. Anything to keep Gryba and Fayne from a top 6 spot.
I'm on the fence with Jagr. He seemed so slow last time I watched him play. But maybe playing with Lucic & RNH, he might be a good fit. I don't think he could keep up with McDavid.
I'd be onboard with Franson.

Jagr would be more of a 3rd line/PP specialist. I don't think him on a line with Maroon or Lucic would be a good idea.
Honestly, I would give Beauchemin that money 8 days a week before Franson.
I don't like either of the players, but Franson is much better than Beauchemin at this stage of their respective careers.

He absolutely is not.
Their last 2 seasons
Beauchemin
2015-2016 - 82 8 26 34 38 -7 25:04 (Colorado -24)
2016-2017 - 81 5 13 18 32 -14 21:30 (Colorado -112)
Franson
2015-2016 - 59 4 13 17 26 -5 18:28 (Buffalo -21)
2016-2017 - 68 3 16 19 34 -5 16:50 (Buffalo -36)
If you're going to try to sincerely tell me that Franson is a better player right now, I will say that is utterly incorrect.
As far as I can tell Beauchemin appears to be a very effective player right now.
Edit: Sincerely think about, Beachemin played over an entire period a game, for 81 games, on a team that was -112 in gf/ga, and was Only -14, that's damned impressive imo.
I like the Beaucheman idea too. Another vet can have a calming presence on the group if we limit his minutes and don't overplay him.
All the insiders have been very quiet lately. I know most of them are on vacation but it would still be nice to hear that the Oilers at least had interest in a few UFAs.
I wonder if they're waiting for info from Agent who's client's are waiting on the RFA bombs and guys like Kovy to drop before they can get their dollars.
There are just so many fairly high end RFAs this year.
He absolutely is not.
