Question: Lets say Lucic rediscovers his game, starts the first 41 games with 20g 20a, the Oilers are flirting with the playoffs, and you have an offer of a 7th rounder for looch, do you take it?

If Looch is a PPG player you don’t move him. One poor half season over an entire career is an outlier.

I don't think Katz is interested in having many one way contracts in the AHL. A vet goalie is justifiable, but I think he's sick of losing money on the farm team.

I'd pick up Aberg and pop him in the AHL. He's better than at least 1 or 2 roster players on the Oilers now and he has decent speed and isn't horrible defensively. He is at worst a net neutral player out there on the ice, rather than some of the negatives out there now for the Oilers.

Would Strome + Kassian + 3rd for Wennberg be a good trade for us? He has a nice ceiling and potential. Also signed long term on a good deal. Move him to wing?

Faulk off to a decent start almost like not having Darling in net is effecting that team positively who would have thought.
yeh looks like Faulk is back out of the Benning+Caggiula range and back into RNH or Puljujarvi tier.
Chia waited too long and now will have to look elsewhere.

Carolina is not that stupid, they were never going to give Faulk to Chiarelli for peanuts.

Every GM knows the score when the Oilers come calling, we're not getting any discounts, the ask for Faulk likely was always Puljujarvi ++.

There's no confirmed story around Faulk at all. For all we know, he was never for sale for anything less than RNH, and also that Carolina would not consider trading him until seeing the start of the season, or maybe they will even wait until next summer.

We need to look at other options.

They need to accept there's no cavalry coming. This is the same franchise that overpaid Hall for Larsson, no GM is just gonna toss us a top 4 D for a reasonable price. Even Chiarelli knows that now. No one is gonna help us out.

That's true for all GMs though. No one is handing out puck moving Dmen to anyone.

The only person who reported that was ever an option was Bob Stauffer. Justin Faulk was never in that range. As for his start, what about it has been so promising? He put up a couple of assists on Alexander Georgiev. He's still making ill advised passes resulting in quality chances against. He's a riverboat gambler.
