Not a rumour, but with the injury of weber. If im begervin. I will like to add some, so a guy like kevin bieksa on third pairing will bring eXperience for a young gun like juulsen. I think he is his idol. And some caracter.

My favourite Bieksa moment and it comes from Vernon Fiddlers impression of angry Bieksa

Vigneault can't contain himself after seeing it. I loved this moment.

Click on the media icon, above (it's the one that looks like a film) and that will open a box in which all you have to do is insert your twitter link.
Thank you! Still getting the hang of inserting stuff in posts. Wasnt Bergevin supposed to be in on this guy too?

Why the **** can’t the Habs get in on this? Capspace to burn, yet crickets out of Montreal when your roster is missing a #1 C, #1 LHD, #1RHD for most of next season, and your top goal scoring winger won’t extend to be traded.

Beregevin and Molson can GTFO.

It's because our GM is likely not good at negotiating. One example is talking to the media about the Sabres GM. Telling the media to tell the Sabres GM to call him if the price lowers. Frustration is clearly getting to our GM. Every moves he tries to make turns into disappointment. He did well with the Jets deal for Armia but it's not enough.

Where the hell are they getting cap space?

11 players signed for next year with $23.2M in cap space. If Callahan is part of the deal, that frees up $5.8m in cap space. So 10 players signed with $29M in cap space. We have to assume the cap grows a bit so lets say it grows $3M. That's 10 players signed with $32M

RFA's: Kucherov, Paquette, Point, Koekkoek, Dotchin
UFA's: Gourde, Andreoff, Conacher, Stralman, Coburn, Giradi

- Karlson: 7 or 8 years at $11M AAV
- Kucherov: 8 years at $10M. One of those years is RFA.
- Point: He has 4 more years of RFA. I think a 2 or 3 year bridge deal at $4.5M (+/-) AAV.

Thats 13 players signed with roughly $6.5M left with 10 more players to sign. Someone has to be moved. Johnson frees up $5M. That would be 12 players signed with $11.5M but 11 players to sign. That's 11 players at $1M each. It's tight! Almost impossible. The hold up on the trade (if true) is likely due to Yzerman talking to Kucherov, Point, and Karlsson on leaving some money on the table to free up a bit of cap space. Taxes are less in Florida so it might just be possible.

Bergevin can’t bluff. So he waits for the right hand to play.

He is such a buffoon it has passed being bad but has entered comical.

You can’t get centers unless you draft them: proceeds to draft wingers and defence men. Watches as countless centers have changed teams.

  • Team has strength at LW. Trades only blue chip prospect defensemen for another LW and converts him to center.
  • Let’s Markov walk replaces him with Streit.
  • Let’s Radulov walk replaces him with Hemsky.
  • Acquired countless third and fourth liners
  • Trades a center with size perfect for the 3 hole
  • This list is only scratching the surface
I didn’t even touch the Subban for Weber trade or ruining Galchenyuk’s trade value

Now let’s just hope he uses that cap space properly to acquire assets for dumps

Looking like our friend SakuKoivu11 had it right. He has several posts including the ones above, where he's been confirming that there was never any real interest or action by Bergevin to attempt to sign the player.

Nobody will kill the messenger in this thread. Keep 'em going. Anything about LAK or is that completely dead by now?

I think I mentioned 2 weeks before the draft that she said LA was interested at the deadline. LA said no when Vilardi was the asking price as well as Kempe. At the draft she said perhaps the deal would Center around Anderson Dolan and Jacob Moverare and the 20th overall pick. It never happened because reports of Pacioretty switching agents. She did say Bergevin was still in contact with Blake last week after the draft but she doesn’t think there will be much action until September as teams will have their roster and cap sorted out. She knows Bergevin is trying to move on from Pacioretty before the season starts so I would assume any day we could hear a Pacioretty trade.

GM's that are not trending well for several years don't typically rebound into a "Yzerman" type GM. They typically get fired but overstay their welcome. This is on Molson big time at this stage. An owner should not be president unless they have a Hockey background. I work for a steel construction company. One of our owners is the CEO and but he is also the Chief Engineer. There is credibility behind the position cause that is his background. Molson is a business man but his hockey operation knowledge is lacking. He thinks $$$$. We need a President to think $$$ and what is best for hockey operations.

I bet you the reason why Molson has not fired Bergevin is because he has 4 years left on his contract... $$$$. Same reason why he allowed Bergevin to trade Subban for Weber. He evaluated it on $$$ and ignored the 4 year age gap. He bought into the same value on the ice but was more looking at the savings in salary. $58M vs $54M. And if you remove the last 3 years of Weber's contract at $1M each year. It's $58M vs $51M. $7M difference is what Molson was looking at.

The Molson/Bergevin combo is a mess!

The worst thing in all that story is that he knew for months that Weber would be out until January or later and he still didn't do shit to sign free agent or to make a trade happen. God sake, he signed 3 AHL players but no NHL players... Why didn't he went for a trade and try to get a young talented (hanifin,Fox,Barrie, etc) RHD or LHD.

this just proves he wants to tank this year again because his plan didn't work, yet again the same old routine with this club for the past 4 years... so tired of it.

No, he finally is embracing tanking. Every successful team save the knights tanked their roster.

Winnipeg, leafs, Pitts, Washington, Tampa,

Instead of listing the teams, I challenge all to list teams that don’t have high end picks on them that are contenders

If i'm Ottawa...I'd be very weary of making a trade of this magnitude with the Tampa Bay Lightning...

I tend to find their prospect pool overrated, they've got a lot of quality young players on their roster who IMO, have been propped up a bit by such a strong supporting cast.

Be careful....
