It’s being discussed in the prospects thread. But it’s a weird year. They’re only playing against 5 teams this year in the regular season (teams in their division) due to Covid.

So you’re not running through a normal schedule where you’re playing more variety in the league & traveling more. But this is likely going to be the case for most leagues in NA.

Their division also hasn’t been shut down to this point while the others have. So their division is more than doubling most of the league right now in games played.

It’s better that he’s doing it than not but even with a larger sample not really sure from a statistical standpoint we’re getting an ideal scope for anybody this year.

Well, one way to look at it is relative to L'Heareux on his own team, who is a 1st rd pick candidate this summer.
The thought was Destroyer would be carried by the hot shot prospect, but so far he's far outperformed the kid and his scoring is pretty much independent of his linemates.

We'll see how the season plays out, but it's obvious that those who said his production was suppressed by being a 17 year old on a 3rd line role on a deep team were right - and given his IQ, motor and toughness, he doesn't have to be an elite scorer to be a very good two way forward. You can always use a defensively responsible forward with offensive chops.

In the end, him posting 20 pts in 12 games is better than posting 10 so we should be encouraged by that. But watching some of the games, he has not "looked" dominant. It's not like he is standing out on each shift vs others, regardless of the points he has gotten.

I like hyping a local draft pick and hope he keeps up the great play and someday we get an NHL player with that pick...though it will likely be a depth player if that happens.

But at least it's better than him shitting the bed in his D+1 season.

Pretty early victory lap, eh?

Not to throw cold water, but with COVID and Halifax only playing teams from the Maritimes, Halifax has played half of its games against Cape Breton - the worst team in the Q thus far. You're probably going to see some lopsided scores and stat lines with basically a full season against 5 common opponents.

Q-spiracy theorist.

He's going to be a player. Impressive speed and seems very good at both ends of the ice. Not sure what his offensive upside is but he's going to have an NHL career on just those two attributes.
