You think Lauko is getting sent down? Who are your bottom 2 RWs, Studnicka and Wagner?
McLaughlin will come up when Lauko goes down. There’s $100k difference in salary, so Lauko is up to max LTIR situation. Studnicka is not a RW - they’d play Nosek there before Studnicka.

Curious why they didn’t just waive said players before to keep McLaughlin up? Just playing devil’s advocate on them sending McLaughlin down when they did for a reason of not starting in Providence.

But your suggestion makes a lot of sense in a cap world.

What do you think the bottom 6 looks like? God I hope they don’t play Nosek on the wing either.

My lines opening night.

Frederic-Coyle-Lauko
Greer-Studnicka-McLaughlin

Lauko brings more energy and speed than Nosek and has a higher ceiling. Keep Nosek as the extra forward.

Maxing their ACSL - Lauko makes $100k more than McL. This is all cap gymnastics.

Lauko will not be on this team come Wednesday. It makes no sense except for cap. Smith will be 3RW.

Then what does your lineup look like? Smith on the third means who on Bergeron’s line?

Oh sorry. I’m thinking Hall is back by game 2 latest so not really worried about that. It would be McLaughlin with Nosek at 4RW. Someone will be back before then too probably Foligno.

I don't know if Lauko will make the opening night roster or not but I was not aware he had a good camp. I thought going into this year he was in a bit of trouble with all the depth on the left side of the pro roster. I hope this gives him some confidence moving forward!

IMO he looked stronger against the better lineups than he did against the prospects and kids early in camp

It looks like he's gained a bit of size too from the last time I looked. Kid is up to almost 200 pounds! If he can bring some of Blidh's forechecking and fiestiness but with a better package of skill, he will be a very useful 4th line option.

what I liked about the few games I saw Lauko in during pre-season was the kid was on the forecheck quickly and more importantly, took away options for the opponent by taking very solid angles in on the forecheck. Played well, played with jam, was rewarded a few times with some goals, we shall see how this plays out as the season is about to begin but he sure surprised this fan.

I keep up with the PB`s thread and he was rarely on anyone`s radar of positivity so I expected literally nothing but he had a real nice camp, not as solid as McLovin but....

I guess Sweeney forgot his leotard. Lauko looked like the epitome of a 4th line wing last night.

Yes! This is why Lauko may succeed in the NHL where Senyshyn does not. Lauko plays the fourth line role quite well. He is constantly skating, aggressive, physical and reliably makes plays on the wall. He is an energy player, and it seems he can fight effectively. I've been very impressed. I think he's a bigger, stronger faster Anton Blidh.

I found Blidh to be a kid who played hard but accomplished little, from time to time he made a half decent play offensively but it was too rare. Time will tell with Lauko, for one game, he played precisely the way I want a 4th line to play, disruptive
