I figure since we already have so many 2014 prediction threads, I might take a stab at next year's World Junior tournament--better early than never.

Anywho... Lots of possible returnees...

(Roster with all possible returnees):

Jonathan Huberdeau - Mark Scheifele - Ryan Strome
Phillip Di Giuseppe - Mark McNiell - Matt Puempel
Philip Danault - Boone Jenner - Ty Rattie
Brenden Gaunce - Daniel Catenacci - Thomas Wilson
Sean Monahan

Cody Ceci - Dougie Hamilton
Scott Harrington - Ryan Murray
Duncan Siemens - Ryan Murphy
Matthew Dumba

Malcolm Subban
Andrew D'Agostini

(My team without unlikely returnees--namely, Huberdeau, Scheifele, Strome...):

Phillip Di Giuseppe - Mark McNiell - Matt Puempel
Phillip Danault - Sean Monahan - Ty Rattie
Adam Lowry - Boone Jenner - Brett Ritchie
Brenden Gaunce - Daniel Catenacci - Thomas Wilson
Nathan McKinnon

Cody Ceci - Dougie Hamilton
Scott Harrington - Ryan Murray
Duncan Siemens - Ryan Murphy
Matthew Dumba

Malcolm Subban
Andrew D'Agostini

I'm sure there are many, many, many, more combination's you guys could come up with.

Huberdeau, Scheifele and maybe Murphy are the only ones I think will stick with their NHL teams. Strome only played 1 game for the Isles and he isn't having a great season this year. I don't think he makes the Isles out of camp next year.

Otherwise it looks good. Malcolm Subban will be the best goalie we'll have since Mason IMO.

Mackinnon will be better then all those 13 forwards by the time next WJC rolls around...

Anthony Duclair, Jon Drouin and Domenic Grahame will all be strongly considered for this team.

Only Grahame as goaltender but the other two will be in their second seasons as 17 year olds, and unless they have unbelievable seasons they pretty much no chance with Mackinnon and Monahan as the underage players.

Drouin may be the 2nd best 95, and Duclair will be dominating the Q once he puts on the pounds.

MacKinnon isnt better than Hubey, but hes better than Monahan now, so he'll be a better 2nd line C as you have up there.

MacKinnon will play Top 6 minutes, if not the best player on the team...

Does Adam Lowry have a realistic shot at making the 2013 team? I haven't really watched him even though he was drafted by the Jets.

All I have to go on are his stats (12 goals and 37 points in 35 games for Swift Current).

I was kind of hoping that other posters would give their predictions, rather than everybody nitpicking mine--hence the title of this thread.

Mackinnon will be the 1st center...

I'm making my predictions based on play right now, as I don't claim to be able to correctly predict the future, although I'm glad that you can (apparently)...

Oh well, better than the endless "way too early" posts you used to get around here...

On paper... that's going to be a phenomenal team in every area no matter which way you cut it... defense looks to be epic and the forwards excellent. Goaltending should be very solid as well. They HAVE to be the clear cut #1 gold medal contenders but of course it's all played on the ice and not on paper.
