ALSO REMEMBER, Bergeron played in Providence at 19....
Wasn't that during the lock out?

I wouldn't be too shocked to see Krejci in a deal for Elias Lindholm.... probably a move that benefits both guys as Krejci would be given better wingers in Carolina (on a consistent basis) and Lindholm would be given Pastrnak.
Heinen is very strong defensively. Isn't bjork supposed to have a strong 2 way game too? I can see that being a problem in bjork and donatos first full season, but with some sheltering I can see that being a very solid 3rd line. For sure, he’s already a great playmaker so I think he’d fit the role great.
That’s true. I know a line of Donato-Heinen-Bjork looks like a defensive nightmare on paper, but so does Wheeler-Krejci-Ryder. I’d like to see a youthful 3rd line next year and Heinen build off an amazing rookie season. Can’t beli some still want to trade him away for a bag of chips.
way too much of a step down there

If the Bruins could get Lindholm straight up for David Krejci the Bruins should take that offer and run.
Sure your taking a slight hit in production now based on previous year's numbers.
But to get a player who can play C who is almost a decade younger and has comparable ability is a deal you make every day of the week.
Bruins aren't dealing 2011-13 David Krejci anymore.
They aren't the biggest guys, but they aren't exactly tiny either. All around about 6' 185lbs, should be enough that they aren't being blown up. More than anything they are really smart players. The main thing working against that line is Bjork and Donato’s size. I’d still like to see it tried in camp though, what a mix of speed and talent. There must be some example of a youth line like that around the league.

The closest I could find age wise that played together consistently is Boeser - Horvat - Baertschi, but our line would be a bit older. It definitely seems doable.
Its worth it if you can run something like. I think the Kuraly Backes combo could work pretty well too. They didn't play together much but had good results.
Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
Debrusk-Krejci-?
Donato-Heinen-Bjork
?-Kuraly-Backes

Here's a little more from Dreger who was a guest on Buffalo's WGR 550 radio today:
“The Boston Bruins, believe it or not – Don Sweeney is looking to be pretty active and he’s had at least a couple of conversations with Ilya Kovalchuk’s agent about that possibility. I guess the fit would be the replacement of Rick Nash, who they acquired at the trade deadline – as long as the term is right. And it seems more likely than not that Kovalchuk is going to command at least two years, so we’ll see which direction Boston moves.
“I know that there are teams calling on David Krejci as well, and the Bruins would like to move Backes. I think they’re a little reluctant to consider trading David Krecji, but every player has a price tag.
“So I think we need to look at Don Sweeney, the GM of the Bruins, as being perhaps a team and a GM who could be very active in the days ahead.”
Dreger | Bruins could be very active
I don't want to go into next season with Krejci gone and a question mark at 2C. Especially since we are trying to get as many shots at the cup while Bergeron is still playing at this level.
Using hindsight to its fullest, moving Krejci after 2013 and keeping Seguin to be the #2 center would've been the better move. But I can't imagine what the reaction would've rightfully been if the leading scorer in the playoff for the 2nd time in 3 years was shipped away from a contender. Especially if it was made just to keep a guy who only has question marks when it comes to post season performance.
I feel pretty confident that neither does Sweeney- we have to think that if they are considering a deal for Krejci at all it is because there are some other irons in the fire to address the hole he would leave. As much as I want more out of the guy, if he goes and does not get replaced with someone at or near his level we can probably kiss the playoffs goodbye.
I would of kept both (based purely from an on-ice perspective, I don't know what exactly Seguin did to upset the B's so much). When it got out that Horton wasn't returning, I thought Seguin moving onto the Lucic-Krejci line as the RW would of been perfect. Alas, it wasn't to be.
I'll say this, with other teams calling the B's on Krejci, perhaps there is a GM or two out there who would offer up a nice return on Krejci even here today.
No doubt. Dylan Strome sucks and no guarantee he can even play at a NHL level.Even if a team like Arizona called up and offered Dylan Strome + for Krejci with no retention, I'd probably turn that down. In the long run, we probably make out value wise. But by the time Strome or a player like that is ready to be a top 1/2 C, Bergeron is probably regressing and we miss our window.
Totally agree. His style makes him easy to overlook, but he was the fourth highest scoring forward on the team, playing on the 2nd pp and put up 30 even strength points playing with Backes and Riley Nash. His possession numbers were fantastic. I'm really interested to see what he can do with stronger linemates.Throw Kovi on the second line and it’s a really strong lineup. I don’t think of Heinen as a starry eyed rookie, the guy is really smart and wins a lot of board battles because of his IQ.
1st lockout, remember the current rule Providence has to abide by... if you're 19 they had to get a waiver for Bergeron to play in Providence, same thing happened with Gabrielle back to juniors this past season instead of sitting and watching....Heinen played in Providence most of last season, so I am not following your thought here . . .

what? take it for what it isBut what's the point you're trying to make?
I'll be stunned if either Krejci or Backes gets moved...... and if either did, I'd be scared what's packaged with them to facilitate it.
Backes as a 3C is perfect with me. As a 4RW or basically any RW I'm not thrilled but I like him as a player. Old school guy.
