I don't know if they'll try/be able to move Backes. I also think they'll sign a veteran LW/C for the bottom 6 in case whichever kid is 3C struggles.

I actually didn’t leave Backes out on purpose, but I like my top 9. Time to groom a young center with potential top 6 abilities.

If theres a deal or Cap to move for young, quick and skilled go after that. But otherwise stay on course, IMO.

3rd line center will be the biggest question mark. I hope one of the prospects grabs it.

I would like to break up the first line. Keep 37 and 63, but put Pasta with 46.

I wouldn’t mind the B’s moving a prospect or two for a young JT Miller type. Physical but with some skills. Charlie Coyle? Spitballing here, there are probably other candidates.

I was thinking of starting the season with Donato at 3C. Backes can play on his RW and take important d zone face-offs if necessary.

Agreed. Bring Czarnik, Forsbacka-Karlsson, Frederic, and Studnicka to camp and tell 'em that the job is up for grabs and whoever plays best in camp gets it.

Really like his potential. 6-5 beast

Also, as much as I like Chara, maybe he shouldn’t play all 82 games next season. Give Zboril or Lauzon some games to give Z a rest. His problem is he’s too prideful to do something like that.

Players I hope are not re-signed: Nash, Nash, Schaller, Gionta, Wingels, Holden
Players I hope are re-signed: Kuraly and Khudobin
Players I think should be moved: Krejci and Backes (probably hard to do with injury and contract)
Most likely an unpopular opinion, players I would listen to in trades for the right deal if I were Sweeney: Marchand, Krug, Miller, Grzelcyk

Due to overachieving. Chemistry. Physical play

And not playing fast teams over and over again in a series (weaknesses become apparent)

I thought Kuraly was pretty good this playoffs. If he can improve the offensive side of his game a bit over the summer, I could see him centering the 3rd line and Frederic or Acciari as the 4th line C.

Just replacing the Nashs and Backes with Heinen, Bjork and Frederic is a big upgrade in speed.

He had a heck of a year and you couldn't ask more from him in the playoffs.

So I don't think his role will change much for next season (his last most likely)

Zboril should make the team next season as the 7th D. Injuries are bound to occur

I think the team is fine.

Get rid of the Nash's, and don't sign anyone for big money, maybe grab another depth player.

Bjork and Donato I can't see not being full time NHL'ers next year with others creepy up the ranks.

The defense is rock solid.

With Zboril right there probably looking for minutes next year. Not sure how you add to the defense.

I honestly think a fair trade that makes sense for both teams is the only way thing's should be changed.

Not holding my breath Kuraly can improve in the offensive department much

He is what he is....an energy, forchecking, PK 4th line player. And a real good one too

I would be fine with Acciari Kuraly Backes 4th line next season

I like Kuraly on the 4th line. Frederic I think has a much higher upside.
But either way its good to have a choice in the cupboard.

I want some of the kids to get a chance, but I would make some big moves if possible, sign a guy like E. Kane maybe if the price and term are right, let both Nash players go, make a home run pitch for Tavares( he loves Bergeron) and if you sign him try to move Backes and/or Krejci. Would love to trade for Byfuglien who could easily replace Chara when needed. Ok one more fantasy deal trade Marchand for Taylor Hall. Marchand is a very skilled player, but his antics I feel cost the team games at times, the refs have it out for him now and I would move him if we get back a front line player to replace him.
