If Colorado is really considering Hayes then they need to make a deal as soon as they can. If they wait until the trade deadline, they just might be out of it by then.

Gotta wonder if Carolina is kicking the tires, too, since Jordan Staal has been out since 12/22 and they're hanging around despite that.

I think it was the two first round picks that kind of pushed it over the edge for me. I know there were conditions and such, but I think that's where a lot of the pushback comes from.

We got that 2nd back from Tampa when they resigned Callahan so that was essentially a wash for me. Traded down from the 29th overall pick to the middle of the 2nd round.

The other first is what hurt but its the price you pay
