There were few here who didnt see the trade as a cap dump for the hawks... They had young guys stockpiled so as soon as everyone was healthy and situated he became expendable.

I loathe Scuderi the player, but I'll be damned if I'm going to piss on the guy's grave...

Could someone summarize one last time what the cap hit implications are for the Penguins here and if he is bought out over the offseason?

Pretty sure the Pens would owe the same percentage of the buyout as they agreed to retain in the trade (33%) and it will be spread over two years. I believe that would have us on the hook for something around 550k in 2016-17 and just under 275K in 2017-18.

I'm pretty pissed Scuderi got waived. He does his most damage on the ice so he's not helping me by bringing the Hawks down from within. Also, he might be trash, but he was our trash. Don't insult him, Hawks.

I wish the Pens quit thinking every player will play till they are 40. There are a handful of guys who can do that.. Most are stars or guys who had an exceptional attribute who even at a percentage of their former selves are still effective... Try hard guys who think the game well are usually done by 33 or 34...if you sign guys like that it better be to a cuttable contract, and if they are productive shop them like crazy if you have any replacement at all...
