So waht you're saying is that if he signs,it counts against the cap?
No, only players with contracts over 1.05 million count against the cap if sent down. So if Peca is sent down, he costs 250K in dead cap space. Weise will cost 1.2 million.
Hudon would never count against the cap.
If he is in the NHL, yes. If he goes to the AHL, substract 1.075 million from the cap hit (minimum 0$). That goes for any contract. So waht you're saying is that if he signs,it counts against the cap?
All for giving Hudon another shot. He's a good little player and he has skills. If it's not there next year, it's not there.

Hopefully, it means that Bergevin know that teams are interested so we'd be able to get a pick out of him.
He's not going to be playing in Laval this coming year.Appreciate the enlightenment,so he could help Laval then,so alright.

I'd risk saying that Bergevin isn't losing any sleep over the public perception of his handling of Charles frigging Hudon. He extended his rights in an off chance he can get something for him, or to bolster the AHL team if no one's interested.
Trashing left right, discredits the player.......sure manDon't agree, public image is everything for the Habs......and those decision comes from the big boss himself.
Look at everytime they traded a player, their mouthpieces in the medias are doing everything they can to discredits the player and starts trashing them left and right. Public perception is everything for this organization.
