Nice to see you finally come around and realize how much Bourque sucks. It just took you much longer than most, no big deal.
When the trade was made I said he was at worst a 3rd liner and a salary dump because of his inconsistent play. The only people who are mad are the ignorant "fans" here who don't know jack **** outside of the habs.

Cry some more. When you have an opinion worth remembering maybe I will recognize your user name.

Sad reality with this team... There are always a couple 3rd liners playing top6 and AHLers playing bottom 6.

Remember when everyone was so high on Higgins? Great 3rd liner, but still a 3rd liner.

hahaha that's great.

You really seem pissed off though. Guess you still miss veggie Gauthier.

And btw a lot of people here had actually watched Bourque play in Calgary and knew he was a lazy floater and to not get fooled by his size, he plays nothing like it. Didn't like the trade then, don't like it now. Best part of it was the 2nd rounder.

Sutter seemed to be able to motivate Bourque, playing on his natural RW position might be of benefit, along with being the 2nd RW in Calgary behind Iginla didn't hurt him at all either. He seems to play when the desire strikes him, otherwise he thinks he's the invisible man on TV.:laugh::laugh: Guess again Rene!:shakehead:shakehead:shakehead

I just hope its for a pick, I don't want another team's problem player unless they're a UFA next year.

LA Kings still have their 1st round pick and Sutter hasn't found the winger he's looking for. Building the Habs has to come from the Entry Drafts or good young prospects not trades that are lateral moves. The Habs aren't close to winning the SC with this team, so the smart move is gathering picks and young prospects. Lombardi's team is in SC mode and quite willing to trade picks to get another veteran to help their SC aspirations, those late 1st round picks are valuable to teams rebuilding like ours.

Maybe they'll hope Bourque can be their latest lazy player to step up in the playoffs? :dunno:

He definitely doesn't fit the team Bergevin and Therrien are trying to build. His days with Montréal are counted.

Yeah, as bad as Bourque is.. he's got size and he has speed. He was our best player in last years play-offs. We brought Briere in for "play-off" scoring. So why are we putting him on the market?

Unless we're getting Stafford back or Clifford.

Bourque is symbolic of the Habs over the last 20 years.

Just good enough to get by and has some potential. Not good enough to be a Champion.

Mediocrity rules and is accepted because that is all this franchise has had and that is all this fanbase has seen for two decades.

If we're just trading him for a salary dump or pick then might as well keep him, $3.3 million for the next two years where the salary cap is over $70 million isn't a big deal.

No way should he be on this team.

A lazy player who gets rewarded by still getting ice time is a horrible message to send to the team. Laziness is contagious. When that type of play is allowed on the ice with no consequences, other players notice and that becomes an issue.

Fucale is the only thing good about the trade. Salary saved was wasted on dead weight players who shouldn't be on the team.

Amen to that. No one throwing around the "27 goals" argument these days, and I'm not surprised. Happy that somehow this all resulted in us getting Fucale, but sad to be right about yet another player for the wrong reasons. Bourque has done next to nothing to shed the well-deserved reputation that came with him from Calgary.

It always amazes me how people think the reason guys like Bourque don't produce is because of laziness. Do you really think he could be this amazing player and just chooses not to?

He doesn't have the competitiveness of a Gallagher, but guess what most people don't and it's not because they're lazy or because they doesn't care. That kind of compete level is a talent/skill just like any other.

What if MB devided to trade Bourque and eat some part of his salary?

Either way, if Bourque is traded, the return will probably be not much better.
Havlat? Stafford? Erat?...Shouldn't wait for a big return for that guy but a change scenary could be a spark for some players.
