I really hope Josh Gorges finds a place to play. I know at this point in his career he’s not more than a 6/7 type at best.

But I just really felt for the guy watching his post game interview the last game of the season. He’s such an all in, team first, heart on his sleeve type of player. It’d just be nice if he could go out on better terms than buffalo’s brutal last place season.

Here’s the interview. Watch it and tell me you don’t feel for the guy...

No sympathy from Leafs Nation.

After refusing a trade to the Leafs and dissing the franchise, he deserved his trip to Buffalo and now he can go to Hell.

He was waived and cleared . Always an overhyped Leaf
Get real. Cody Franson is not and never will be Leaf.

He was here long ago and was found wanting.

It was Nashville that was all after him in that trade -- remember?

Actually I wouldn't mind Franson as an Oilers fan. He should be cheap and he fills a need better than Benning, Bear or Bouchard would (or at least pushes them to beat out a replacement level player for the job, instead of having it handed to them).

Russell worked well with Wideman in Calgary a few years back, and he'd be asked to reprise a simular roll here.

Benning/Gravel

Assuming Klefbom and Sekera are fully healthy coming into camp, I like the look of that.

I'd like the Habs to bring gorges back as 6/7 I feel like he would be a good leader to have around the young guys for our rebuild.

Edit: Maybe bring him in for an office role.

I see bieksa and Jokinen getting signed soon. Ones a shootout specialist and the other has a toughness to his game and is still good enough to be a bottom pairing defender. Both solid vets.

Apparently you didn't watch Bieksa play hockey the last couple of years.

I’d love Winnik back as a fourth liner on the Leafs to primarily PK and replace what Leo Komarov brought.

Paul Martin's still available. I know he might not have been that good a PM but I'd still sign him, he's perhaps the best finance minister this country has had in my lifetime. :sarcasm:

In all seriousness still some good talent out there, I figure you'll see a few signings as we get closer to training camp.

i would bet that most teams are in on Karlsson, and that is holding things up. at least for defencemen...

I mean, I get why you’d be bitter since he refused the trade there.

But I didn’t think he dissed the franchise.

He just said that he played for Montreal for so long (where the leafs wer their biggest rival) that he didn’t think he could give his entire heart and soul to Toronto. And he said that if he couldn’t do that, it wouldn’t be fair to Toronto.

Honestly not much I watched a lot of hockey , but not much of anaheim except for thier playoffs series, he didnt play lol. The reason why i say a team could use him is because he has experience and hits a lot as well as blocks shots. He's like a jordie benn or roman polak type. Who both have contracts lol. It wouldnt be the worst idea on a third pairing playing like 12-14 minutes a night. Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver could use him :)

He will not sign that cheap and I think Boston still gets the first crack at him
Yeah I don't think he would, either. Just throwing out a number I'd take him at. He didn't exactly light the world on fire last season so I would be pretty hesitant to sign him to any significant deal.

I don't think he plays this season, TBH.

I know it does not make a whole lot of sense, and people will take exception to the idea, but I am a-okay with Toronto giving Sbisa a look-see

Oiler fans have been talking about bringing in Franson for years and he was never brought in. Why do it now when he's older and worser? Pass.

Vermette and Enstrom are good enough for one year deals. They're likely just waiting to see if anyone offers them something more than a PTO

Nash will get a job if he doesn't decide to retire everyone else will be pto guys if they decide to try and play

Vermette is only good at faceoffs now and it seems like most ducks fans don't want him back / think he's done
