I see bieksa and Jokinen getting signed soon. Ones a shootout specialist and the other has a toughness to his game and is still good enough to be a bottom pairing defender. Both solid vets.

Jokinen showed 4 teams he was done last year. No need for the other 27 teams to bring him in to find out for themselves.

Oh yeah, I also see Letestu signing with Anaheim or Florida.

Mason was hurt a lot last year. He’s getting paid so I imagine he waits till he finds a good situation. Jets should of just kept him honestly. They have the space and an unproven backup

Lehtonen May take more money overseas
And what cap space do the Jets have. They unloaded Mason and signed a $650,000 back up so they can stay under the cap. As of this moment the Jets have a 21 player roster with $10.239 M in cap space still needing to sign Morrissey. Most Jets fans are expecting something long term with an AAV in the $5.5 M range. So now we would be down to $4.739 M. Add in $3.713 in ELC performance bonuses and yeah they will be paid out considering most of it goes to Laine, followed by Connor. That leaves $1.026 M for the 23rd roster player. Most or expecting it to be Petan with his $874,125 cap hit. That would leave them $151,875 under the cap. A little shy of the $4.1 M Mason contract before he was bought out.

Surprising Letestu is still out there... he was probably looking for something crazy like 3M a year and prized himself out.

Who's gonna sign? where? who's gonna have to sign super cheap? who's gonna end up retiring? not finding job?

Your predictions.....

PS cant believe that Vermette is still available, super strong on faceoffs, can kill penalties, still a little bit of offense for a 4th liner.....

Vermette doesn't bring anything to the table beyond the faceoffs anymore. Looked less physically engaged as last year wore on, skating and compete just aren't there any more.

Since when is Bieksa a shootout specialist? (You might want to check Jokinen's record, iirc he's something like 6 for 29 since 13/14).

Nash and Vermette to the Leafs please.
Shore and Winnik would be ok for camp invites.
Not sure if Winnik is better than what we already have.

We have enough bottom six players.
Chiasson is a big body, from Mtl. and comes in cheap at almost an entry level contract. He's a better option to be called back than any of the winger vets in Laval who are getting paid about the same. It's a no brainer if he's running out of options which seems to be the case.

I think it's more that these guys will be wanting contracts whereas teams are only interested in offering PTO's at this stage. The chips will start falling into place as camps near and they still don't have offers, the players will start to be willing to accept the PTO's.

Can imagine EDM will be looking to bring a couple extra veteran forwards to camp to give them a whirl. Their RW depth is abysmal and could use a proven veteran presence.

Trust me, those two are both done. Neither of them can skate anymore.

Yeah that's true, but i cant see how he wont make a roster like montreals or ottawa's if he is signed cheap or gets invited on a tryout basis lol

I'm assuming you were joking about bieksa right ?haha.,That is true but given less shootouts happen more players are bound to become worse at shootouts then better given teams are more focused on 3 on 3 play now.

Fair enough, I figured they couldnt make a shit team worse lol. I'm not saying they are out of the park great, most of the players on that list are better. I guess i'm bias cause i enjoyed bieksa on vancouver, i can see winnik, enstrom, letestu, etc getting contracts before them. I think i was just thinking about the shit teams and how anyone could join their teams lol. Can't see how bieksa or jokinen could make ottawa any worse then they are now LOOL

P.s i think pouliot is arguably the only one on that list that has like a 5% chance of getting signed. Man leeched so much off of good players in his career it's a joke at this point
