Press Release:

The Canucks today announced that Reid Boucher has been suspended immediately, pending the revelation that he is a North Korean spy.

"This was the reason we weren't playing him," explained coach Willie Desjardins. "We thought reporting him to the authorities would be unfair to Reid. We wish him the best in his future endeavours."

Guy may as well be playing in North Korea for all the likelihood that Willie will ever play him....you'd have to think though that surely Jimbo is getting tired of this play....picks up a decent scorer on waivers and than watches as the guy basically eats popcorn in the pressbox, while guys like Chaput and Mega who had far inferior numbers in the AHL, play night after night.

Hoping these kinds of decisions will all factor into a coaching change, at least in by the off-season.

If only the Canucks weren't so deep with talent up front so they could give boucher a chance..

can't afford to risk breaking that OTL streak of theirs

Yessiree....Chaput, Megna and even Gaunce were supposed to be the "go-to players" in Utica this year....now they're so indispensable to the Canucks lineup, they just can't fit Boucher in.....but I suppose they can always wait and send them back to AHL next season.:sarcasm:

Excited to see what we have in this player! Here's hoping he can show what he's got.

Didn't really notice him in his first game but i guess its hard to notice someone when they are playing on the 4th line and only played 6 minutes.

Hopefully he gets a better opportunity than playing with Chaput/Gaunce

Looked absolutely disinterested, sluggish and small.....I know he has a good set of hands and shot but just a brutal effort for his Canuck debut. Not a good start.

He barely got a chance. I really hope he doesn't sit until we get another injury because he didn't light it up in 6 minutes of ice time. Megna usually accomplishes nothing in 15-17 minutes a night.

He was scared that Willie dressed him by accident and he wanted to lay low to keep it that way....

his first comment in the interview was something like "obviously i played bad in the first" which did not answer the question he was given. i think he made system mistakes in the first and knew it and thought irfan knew it.

Who knows how long Boucher will be a Canuck?....but if can't bring more offense to the table than Megna, Gaunce, Chaput or Skille then it was a wasted pick-up....his numbers in the AHL were far superior, so there's hope I guess.

I don't think he had a terrible game given his usage and ice time, I liked that he actually finished a few checks which is a rarity for any canuck forward

He did because I don't think I saw him on the ice for the 2nd & 3rd periods.

F*****g Willy!

Do you know how much more ice time that is than most of the spares? Look at how much Rodin got...:sarcasm:

He'll probably get a few more games getting under 10 minutes and will be waived

Wouldn't make sense to waive him until a few injury players come back (or we claim someone else). He should be safe till the all-star break. I really want to see if he can do anything on the PP but for some reason i doubt he'll be given a chance...

He started the game on the third line with Sutter and Granlund.

Soon enough, I noticed him on the fourth line with Gaunce and Chaput, while Skille was moved up to the Sutter and Granlund line.

By the latter half of the match, I saw that Chaput and Skille were rotating in and out of the Sutter line while also taking shifts on the fourth line together. Boucher saw no more ice time by that point.

He saw the ice once in the 3rd.
