We should take this to parliment :teach:

Let's not!!;) It's more than ridiculous!!

This whole parliament thing is a joke!

As if politicians have nothing better to do with taxpayers' money!!

p.s.: don't worry...I know you were obviously joking/being sarcastic...:)

Don't agree with you concerning Niskanen.
This guy is the PPQB for Dallas, in the future.
At the 28th spot, he will turn out to be a steal.
This guy concentrate on hockey as his unique sport for the first time of his life.
Before he was a multi-sport athlete in High school.
If you have followed him at Minnesota-Duluth, he has not only superb stats, for a soph. (39g. - 31 pts as a def.), but he's a gifted athlete and a powerful skater. He played a lot for MDU in all situation.
So don't agree, I keep him at the 28th. spot.

If Niskanen had played in the USHL, or in the CHL he would've been a top 15 pick, just like he would've been picked 10-20(most likely 12-15th) if the 2005 draft was re-done today.

He doesn't get much hype on the boards either and there's not too many people that have seen him play.

There's not a lot of love for Ryan in this thread. I'm telling you guys, he could easily be the 2nd best player out of this draft. Being a power forward means he takes time to develop, but after watching him his entire junior career, he simply dominates every game (except when London comes to town, but that's London). His physical presence is immense (while a team like London had a weak defense this season, during the playoffs he turned them into his puppets). He has tremendous hands (like a big dangler), great scoring ability, and hockey sense out the ying yang. His skating his certainly sub-par, but his top speed is NHL calibre and he's extremely hard to knock off the puck.

Sure, there's a lot you can say about many of the prospects, and its simply my opinion, but Ryan is the complete package and will be a quality 1st line player in his NHL prime.

I'm not counting him out...it's not like it's been 2, 3, 4 years...!!!
B. Ryan is what? 20? almost 21? He's very young...still some potential.
I wouldn't put him so, so high, but I also realize that his value can climb quickly within a year or two...

Same goes for Brule, Pouliot...

Even if Latendresse was in the NHL last year and was showing some flashes of brillance! He is no top 10 material.. First rounder? Yes.. Top 10? no way unless the habs grab him at number 5 and still, i don't see the habs doing that since they were so high on Carey Price...

Top 20-25? Probably

Chad Denny's done nothing but solidify his 2nd round draft status, he was an off the board pick then, getting better now, 19 points (9G,10A) in 17 playoff games.

At the start of 2009/10 - ranked by NHL points

1. Sidney Crosby 397pts (1 - Pitts)
2. Anze Kopitar 204 pts (11 - LA)
3. Paul Stastny 185pts (44 - Col)
4. Andrew Cogliano 83pts (25 - Edm)
5. Guillaume Latendresse 82pts (45 - Mon)
6. Devin Setoguchi 82pts (8 - San Jose)
7. Marc-Edouard Vlasic 76pts (35 - San Jose)
8. Bobby Ryan 67pts (2 - Ana)
9. Martin Hanzal 66pts (17 - Phx)
10. Matt Niskanen 61pts (28 - Dal)

Apart from Crosby, only Setoguchi and Ryan were drafted top 10. And Setoguchi was a controversial pick. But San Jose show their drafting ability yet again.. the most underrated in the NHL.

11. Kris Letang 52pts (62 - Pit)
12. Sergei Kostitsyn 50pts (200 - Mon)
13. Keith Yandle 44pts (105 - Phx)
14. Mason Raymond 44pts (51 - Van)
15. TJ Oshie 39pts (24 - StL)
16. James Neal 37pts (33 - Dal)
17. Gilbert Brule 35pts (6 - Cbs)
18. TJ Hensick 32pts (88 - Col)
19. Kris Russell 31pts (67 - Cbs)
20. Marc Staal 25pts (12- NYR)

At this stage, Columbus, Colorado, Dallas, Phoenix, Montreal and San Jose and Pittsburgh have all drafted 2 players in the top 20. That's 14 players to 7 teams and 6 players to the rest of the league (23 teams). Quite a marked difference.

The list is certainly far from complete as rising stars Neal, Oshie and Ryan are moving up fast.

21. Jared Boll 24pts (101 - Chi)
22. Anton Stralman 22pts (216 - Tor)
22. Jack Johnson 22pts (3 - Car)
24. Matt D'Agostini 21pts (190 - Mon)
25. Steve Downie 18pts (29 - Phi)
26. Matt Lashoff 15pts (22 - Bos)
27. Brian Lee 14pts (9 - Ott)
28. Benoit Pouliot 14pts (4 - Min)
29. Vlad Sobotka 12pts (106 - Bos)
30. Kyle Cumiskey 7pts (222 - Col)
30. Patric Hornqvist 7pts (230 - Nas)

Rask needs to move out of the first round because I can't cope with him moving up as a Leafs fan. JFJ does something right in drafting Rask then trades him, *sigh*.

Leafs have had poor management since.

Wasn't it Rask for Raycroft?

Definately a strong draft

how is omarra in there? hes not a 1st rd talent...hes not even a 6th rd talent. hes useless and nowhere near the player setoguchi is, yet hes drafted right before him. Omarra had 1g and 9a in 62 games in the ahl last season...the yr before? he had 20 pts in 24 games...in the ECHL. But is 2007 he had 9 pts in 31 games in the AHL...soooo yeah, not a first, second or even a 5th rd pick
