Hughes had 2 goals, giving him 19 points in 21 games.

Solid production, nothing spectacular but solid. Honestly, his production this season doesn't really matter much, we'll see with him once he settles in NCAA, so hard to evaluate on high school (?) hockey.

Yep, agreed, won't matter until next year.

Most of the kids in the BCHL are 17-20, so it's more advanced than USHS hockey. And lots of guys go there out of USHS or Junior B to play a year or two before going to their college commitment (or looking for a college offer).

Barron took the last draw of the game in the defensive zone, he had 11 shot attempts (2nd highest in the game was one of his line mates with 8), and his goal stands as the game winner (second one this weekend). Announcers mentioned Barron could be named ECAC’s player of the week this week.

With all that production, Barron is at PPG (3 gooses, 1 apple) in 4 games played. Also is a plus-2 and 4 PIMs.

The 17 players we picked in the last 2 drafts:

Positive
Lias Andersson: PPG in the AHL
Filip Chytil: NHL regular
Brandon Crawley: AHL regular
Morgan Barron: Strong NCAA career so far
Patrik Virta: Jumped from Liiga to KHL, top-10 in points among U23
Vitali Kravtsov: Involved in 25% of his team's goals in the KHL
K'Andre Miller: Rookie of the month in NCAA
Nils Lundkvist: 3rd in PPG among U19 SHL D-men since 1995
Joey Keane: top-10 in points among U20 D-men in OHL
Riley Hughes: Having a good BCHL season as a 200+ position pick is a bonus

undetermined
Calle Sjalin
Olof Lindbom
Jacob Ragnarsson
Nico Gross
Lauri Pajuniemi
Simon Kjellberg

Negative
Dominik Lakatos

That's a great look so far.

FWIW, Kjellberg is supposedly keeping his own in the USHL. He's a mobile defensive defender and, although maintaining an even rating, seems to be keeping his own in the lineup. For a mostly unknown on draft day, I say that's not necessarily a bad thing.

The quibble I would have with this is Hughes and a more minor one with Ragnarsson.

On Hughes--I don't think we're really going to have a good idea if he's a good prospect until next year when he's playing at Northeastern U.

On Ragnarsson--starts the season injured and the Allsvenskan though not as good as the SHL is a really good league. Sjalin is in the Allsvenskan too. He seems to be having a hard time staying healthy.

I changed it. I had undetermined and negative batched together, but I separated that now.
