Someone mentioned a few days ago that when he was running Southampton, he did a ton to bolster the organization's analytics department. Assuming that's true, I can't imagine he goes through those efforts if he doesn't think they have a place in sports

I'm intrigued. Can't really base an opinion on how things went in Edmonton, but it seemed like he was doing a decent job there.

For those wondering, Ralph's goaltending coach in Edmonton was hold-over Frederic Chabot who doesn't really have a stellar NHL career and is currently the minor league/dev coach for the Wild.

He does. Not sure how it will push into Botts with that, but he most certainly has had analytics praise for his time in Southampton.

So it's different jobs, if Martin is an assistant, maybe it's not so bad, it's their business, although I would rather believe that young Taylor will be an assistant.

I'm okay with it, as I said before just someone who thinks outside the box and won't put up with petty crap anymore. Housley always seemed like a very passive head coach.
This was my first choice. Insanely excited. This might be the only guy brilliant enough to fix that room.

Young Taylor will be continuing his quest to win an AHL playoff game.
Again, that sentiment is dangerous.
His last year in Edmonton, their goaltending had slipped pretty badly. I wonder how close he is with Dubnyk, since he started with him with the Oil and then wound up with him on the Wild.

Cool. I'm happy with it considering the field. I'd say we need at least one strong X's and O's guy on the bench.
I would rather Taylor continue to groom in Rochester for a few more years. They don't need to find a new guy for the Amerks too.

Martin is an ideal choice for associate head coach.
I am happier today then yesterday. Good hire. Better then Martin or Taylor. Taylor needs 1 more year in the A and then a year or two as an nhl assistant.
