Mac won the Calder. He played 4 years behind Duchene. Mac's increase in points dovetails perfectly with him becoming the 1C. Mac's PPG has been fairly consistent at 1.35 since moving to 1C from 2C. So what, precisely, has Bednar done there?

MacK won the Calder when his competition was Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat. Let's not pretend that he was competing against another future superstar. You also don't spike up from a 50 point player to a near 100 point player over a single season just because you get more ice time.

I just was able to watch the third period…… That game really could have gone either way, there were some golden saves by Fleury there in that last 5 minutes where he barely saved the puck and they had to have a fairly flukey goal to beat Grubauer.

Not really worried about much. Vegas is a good team, we’re going to have to play well to beat them.

Well, that would be a small part of it. The larger part would be playing with a 1RW and 1LW and Tyson Barrie (while also being on on PP1) a whole lot more than when he was 2C and PP2
