That's not what has been said tho. Q and the players have stated that he's hardworking guy, leads by example, etc. but has that specifically rubbed off to other players is another story. Does he challenge other players to do their best? Yes. Do they follow those recommendations or follow his work ethic and approach? I don't think so.
This team is still very much a collection of perimeter players who mostly shy away from contact.
Barkov just hugs it out, Ekblad skates away... I mean, go defend your teammate, throw a couple of jabs in there even if those end up being rabbit punches. Let the other teams know that you're gonna carve up your own space in front of the net.
More of the same... Hubs just flies by, decides finally to join after acknowledging that skating directly to the bench would not look good, ends up hugging it out with Stenlund while Hornqvist getting pummeled by four Jackets, Wennberg also just grabs a hold of a guy while Hornqvist is in a headlock.
that is pretty impressive.
