GDT: preseason game 3 vs tampa again

Carrick (honestly, so I'm told) represents a strong point shot and PP instincts, which is only shared with Faulk among our dmen.

Esp. for the first 20 games, as refs go bananas with the slashing calls, having a guy that can rip it from the point as the 7th dman could be valuable.

I havent given up on Carrick yet and would be thrilled to see him force his way on to the team. Watched him a lot live during his time here in Mississauga.

I'd waive Dahlbeck before waiving Carrick. I think there's no way he'd clear when you consider a team like Colorado exists and has like 4 NHL defensemen.

Avs are talking like they're happy breaking in their kids on d, I'd be curious if they would pick up Dahlbeck. They probably would take Carrick.

Dahlbeck has never struck me as anything more than a stopgap whose main attribute is that he can play both sides. I would think if a homegrown guy like Carrick impresses enough to make the roster there'd be no hesitation to send Dahlbeck on down the road.

from what i've seen coach bill peters has spoken very high of carrick. btw i would love to share it but its on google docs. its a lot harder to transfer it from docs to this. i used to write everything on docs last year incase i had to exit out of the tab. if i wrote to much it didn't want to copy and paste it all.

Would only work for me for about 30 seconds at a pop, then the video would freeze with the audio still playing. Restarting temporarily fixed it a couple of times, but now nothing.

Tons of sloppy play. Skinner and Slavin, who are probably the two best players in this game, have both made vomit-quality passes in their own zone in the first 10 minutes.

Yeah. Always hard to tell though because I think a lot of vets take it a little easy in pre-season vs. guys fighting for a spot. Slavin looked like he was playing pond hockey and trying a slick move when he turned that one over in front of the net.
