I think Trotz wants this to be a rebuild on the fly. Winning goes a long way to good attendance. But there is no question the new approach on ice is fun to watch EVEN while losing. So with Askarov most reports say he needs more time to polish in AHL. Saros has consistently struggled early in the season. And our goaltending coaches seem to help a lot. I think Saros will get his rythym back,
As for asset management, there is still time with Saros. I mean, if you presented a proposal that was huge, you have to consider that offer for more than a second. Nashville has to make a huge trun-around to even sniff the playoffs.
as suggested much earlier, Oilers need at least an average goalie coach. They are going thru goaltenders like crazy. They could not all be as flawed as the look. The odds are just astronimcal against that.
