Everyone throwing numbers of what they predict will be offensive output, and what would be the expected output based on contract to not make them overpaid.

Let's put it down on paper!

Predicted:
Stutzle: 23G; 68P
Tkachuk: 29G; 66P
Norris: 34G; 74P
Giroux: 19G; 64P
DeBrincat: 38G; 63P
Batherson: 24G; 78P

Expected minimum for AAV value:
Stutzle: 65P (higher expectations than his AAV to justify projected development into his extension)
Tkachuk: 70P
Norris: 75P
Giroux: 65P
DeBrincat: 75P
Batherson: 60P

This all seems reasonable except for having both Norris and Batherson over 70 points but not having Tkachuk break 70 and actually scoring less than he did last year. I expect if the former two jump up by almost 50+ points combined there is a near zero percent chance (barring injury) Tkachuk's production ends up falling compared to last year.

I thinks some of you want to play coy to not be disappointed! Let's let optimism reign for now!

Tkachuk 35g 38a 73pts
Batherson 33g 57a 90pts
Norris 45g 30a 75pts
Debrincat 45g 30a 75pts
Stutzle 33g 52a 85pts
Giroux 25g 45a 70pts

Pinto 14g 29a 43pts
Chabot 12g 50a 62pts
Joseph 19g 22a 41pts
Zub 8g 30a 38pts
Formenton 23g 22a 45pts
Brannstrom 8g 32a 40pts

Admittedly the Senators only scored 224 goals total last season and these tally up to 300 on their own but even with DeBrincat and Giroux alone we upgrade significantly offensively let alone a full season from our budding stars.

The team is loaded with offensive potential but you have to ask how minutes will be distributed. Who will be on PP1? And if Stutzle and Pinto are scoring that much from the center position then presumably Norris won't be the go to center in all offensive situations and likely fewer minutes overall.

Assuming players play a full 82 game season which won't happen here are my predictions.

I haven't looked at anyone else's list while thinking of these. These would be my honest answers if u had a gun to my head and if i get it wrong you shoot.

Stützle
29G - 45A - 74PTS.

Debrincat
45G - 30A - 75PTS

Giroux

17G - 50A - 67PTS.
----
Tkachuk
30G 35A - 65PTS

Norris
37G - 25A - 62PTS.

Batherson
39G - 50A - 89PTS.

-----
Pinto
15G - 25A - 40PTS.

Joseph
16G 16A - 32 PTS.

Formenton
18G 17A - 35 PTS.

----
Chabot
11 G - 65A - 76pts

Zub
6G - 33A - 39 Pts

Sanderson
10G - 25A - 35 Pts.

Brannstrom
4G - 20A - 24PTS.

--------------
I think we see a lot of career years this season and lots of goals being scores thats why i am projecting high assist totals for the D. We have 5 forwards alone that can contribute 160+ goals alone.

In my post Pinto is only getting 14 goals so I think in line with what I expect his 3rd line role to be able to produce. His linemates have similar point totals.

Norris doesn't need many looks to score but I think he gets even more this year due to match-ups and due to the dual threat on PP1. Could be wrong but I think he and DeBrincat get a look on that unit and teams will have fits trying to figure out which one will be the trigger man as they move the puck around.

But in general yes, it is hard for everyone to score when there is only 1 puck!

It's like a bunch of people forgot Brady scored 68 points last year.

Tkachuk 33g 41a 74pts
Batherson 30g 48a 78pts
Norris 38g 31a 69pts
Debrincat 40g 35a 75pts
Stutzle 29g 45a 74pts
Giroux 26g 41a 67pts

This would set us up to score around to 270 goals as a team next year which would be awesome but also would have put us around 9th to 12th in the league last year and still comfortably 4th behind Tor, Fla, and TB in our devision. I could see that as being the story of the season as everyone has great years but it just not being good enough in our division.

There is only one puck and at least a couple guys are going to see substantial cuts in their PP time.

Based on 82 games paces

Tkachuk 29 G, 66 pts
Norris 37 G, 72 pts
Batherson 27 G, 79 pts
DeBrincat 40 G, 71 pts
Stützle 29 G, 85pts
Giroux 22 G, 65 pts
Formenton 19 G, 35 pts
Pinto 16 G, 42 pts
Joseph 17 G, 36 pts
Kelly 7 G, 18 pts
Gambrell 2 G, 9 pts
Watson 10 G, 18 pts

Chabot 13G, 65 pts
Zub 6 G, 25 pts
Sanderson 7 G, 35 pts
Hamonic 4 G, 18 pts
Holden 6 G, 16 pts
Brannstrom 7 G, 40 pts

So, that's pacing for 298 goals, I think we'll be a very high scoring team,

Of note, guys like Thomson and JBD will likely play some games, guys will get injuries ect, this is all pace if they play 82 but that never happens.

That's the hope,

I think the teams biggest question mark is goaltending not the D, I'm pretty high on Sanderson and think Hamonic gets a bad rap around here. Brannstrom to me looks like he can handle a top 4 puck mover role with a reliable partner. Our first two callups imo are two 1st Rd picks on the verge of being NHL players. My only concern on D is that well play Zaitsev even if/when he struggles.

We have two goalies than can play like a starter, but aren't sure things, I think we'll be fine but it's an area to keep an eye on.

We haven't seen the GA predictions yet. ;)
we gave up 266 last year which had us better than 10 teams.

We scored 227. We need at least another 23 which to me seems like a lock. If we get the 23 extra and cut back 14 against we're even on the season. We'll be right there fighting for a playoff spot imo

Maybe get 37 extra and not worry about cutting back. ;)

We only need one of the two to have a good season

I'd like to think we're moving into an era of not needing goaltending to win us games. What we need is for goaltending to not lose us games
