Another east coast game as we take on the suprisingly good Nashville Predators led by Bennings nephew. Demko with the start and PbK BACK in the lineup at the expense of someone. Gonna be watching the game with @Paulinbc so you will get DOUBLE commentary. LINES

Pearson Miller Brock Boeser
Pettersson Horvat Garland
Podkolzin Richard Chaisson
Motte Lammikkoo Highmore

Hughes Schenn
OEL Myers
Hunt Juulsen

Demko
Halak

Hopefully BBQ Bruce sprinkles some magic on the boys and we go into break on a good note.

Preds should win, rested, at home and fighting for a playoff berth. Vancouver isn't taken for granted too many times anymore. For years it was they faced backup goalies, not so much anymore.
Even Bruce can't make this group a winner. They need, like 26 wins in the rest of the season and 2 teams to bomb for a chance at a divisional top 3.

Lose today and by the end of allstar weekend there will be a change

Last time we played the Preds, we were lucky insofar as we caught them on the second half of a B2B...Shoe is on the other foot this game..They're the rested team, we're not.

Good game by the Canucks last night..lots of hustle, playing BB style hockey...I'm assuming Demko's in tonight...Would be nice to end on a winning note, going into the All-Star break.

1 other notable Canucks-Preds moment, I was a fresh-eyed 12 year old and the Canucks were falling out of the playoff race. The game was heading into overtime, and I was getting home from basketball and I ran to the radio to turn it on. They were already doing post-game, David Legwand scored like 6 seconds into OT.

While he gets credited with the surge in wins ocne he was hired, fans were likely seeing the Hawthorne Effect", a phenomenon that often happens as a result of any perceived positive change.
Those first wins Bruce didn't even have any practices of chance to change systems so while he does deserve credit the last 11 games are a more true showing of where the group is at vs other teams. Many of those wins were coming against teams that were suffering with reduced rosters and the Nux had a full healthy team.

I would agree, to an extent, that some of the wins when BB was initially hired, were on adrenaline...

Why are the last 11 games (where, at a certain point, we were missing 5 key regulars, including both starting goalies,..a skeleton lineup).. a true indication of the team..?..looks like you did a bit of a cherrypick there.

BB took an underachieving roster, and got them playing cohesively...In a 'new coaches bump' you usually get guys that are not that good, punching above their weight...That can only last so long....Not the case here, this isn't a talentless roster (we still have underachieving core players)...I think this team still has a lot more to give.

Again, if there had been a coaching change to a winning vet coach before the season..The Canucks would be comfortably in a playoff spot right now..Not a contender, but a solid playoff team.

Yea I hate the new set up, completely takes Miller (our best and most productive player) out of the play. EP and Hughes just passing it around on the perimeter and neither are a threat to score from their spot. OEL is completely ineffective at his spot as well. I'm not sure if this is just the coaches trying to balance 2 PP units but I don't think its going to work in the long run.
