While he gets credited with the surge in wins ocne he was hired, fans were likely seeing the Hawthorne Effect", a phenomenon that often happens as a result of any perceived positive change.
Those first wins Bruce didn't even have any practices of chance to change systems so while he does deserve credit the last 11 games are a more true showing of where the group is at vs other teams. Many of those wins were coming against teams that were suffering with reduced rosters and the Nux had a full healthy team.
I would agree, to an extent, that some of the wins when BB was initially hired, were on adrenaline...
Why are the last 11 games (where, at a certain point, we were missing 5 key regulars, including both starting goalies,..a skeleton lineup).. a true indication of the team..?..looks like you did a bit of a cherrypick there.
BB took an underachieving roster, and got them playing cohesively...In a 'new coaches bump' you usually get guys that are not that good, punching above their weight...That can only last so long....Not the case here, this isn't a talentless roster (we still have underachieving core players)...I think this team still has a lot more to give.
Again, if there had been a coaching change to a winning vet coach before the season..The Canucks would be comfortably in a playoff spot right now..Not a contender, but a solid playoff team.
