The Sharks are going to be terrible this year, and they know it. You can see the huge changes they've made to their system and philosophy. They collapse to home plate like the early Terry Murray era Kings. If there is a remote chance the play will go the other way, they start skating back. Not even 50/50 plays, like if they think they have less than a 20% chance. They are letting breakouts go uncontested. Pucks at the point aren't pressured, they are just falling back trying to block stuff.

Basically put up a wall and hope for a mistake by the other team. It's like they hired Jose Mourinho as their coach.

While the Kings have largely dominated the play (except on the PP), there have been some players who, well, haven't (so far).

I think Thomas, Fagemo, and Hudon have looked worse than usual.

Bjornfot has been pretty good playing RD. Him and Moverare as a pairing have stifled San Jose.

Despite still looking good otherwise, Clarke has not been smart when attempting to enter the zone. But his sense of where players are have him making quick, smart decisions in moving the puck.

I still think Laferriere has been a stud. He was close to getting a great scoring chance if Maltsev had seen him alone in the slot. But the dude just makes things happen. Steals, entries, drew a penalty. It will be very sad to see that effort not immediately rewarded.

JAD has played better than in Australia, but just looks like he has no chemistry on the line. His struggles to make anything happen are visible.

Chromiak went back to not getting in position to make things happen.

Probably Pinelli's best period of preseason so far. Hasn't made a major impact, but he was tilting the ice favorably.

I have been thoroughly disappointed in Chromiak this pre-season.

He wouldn’t last two shifts under Todd at the NHL level, and would cost repeated chances against every time he is on the ice.

Damn miss the old days of the big boys squaring off. Good tilt there between two tough guys. Doty with a solid right.

Did Hiller travel with Group A? I can't imagine any other reason the powerplay is this awful.

Reign and the kids are playing their hearts out. Most of them played last night and looking decent. This might be the last game for most of them and their going all out. Laferriere has been the most impressive these past few games. Is he AHL eligible or does he have to go back to Harvard? Really liking his game.
