The problem for Hoffman is he has to stand out to earn a spot and he doesn't. He plays ok but he's older and more experienced yet frankly Puempel looks like a better lw. I know it's a numbers game and Puempel will probably start in Bingo because he doesn't need waivers but if it was strictly based on play Hoffman would be trailing right now.

Yes he does. He had the second highest minors after Neil last season. Playing tough is great; taking penalties is stupid and undisciplined.

We really need to find a way to fit Pageau into this lineup. He brings too much to the table here to get sent down. Waive whoever you need to to fit him in, play him on the wing, whatever. Too much skill, speed, grit and hockey sense.

I would not rate his play as very good. It is good as in acceptable. In the first period he was awful.

Zibby can still be sent down without waivers. Maybe my crazy ideas aren't quite so crazy after all!

There's no arguing that.

That's the hard part about trying to evaluate in preseason. A lot of guys that know they're a lock for the team aren't really giving it the ole' 100%.

It would be nice to see him put more passion and determination in his game tonight, if only to soothe the nerves knowing that he will do it...if you know what I mean.

He sure brings more to the table than Greening or Condra, but Pageau will not make this team over them unless they leave as part of a trade.
