To be completely honest I'd rather 44DD over Bouillon.

I honestly don't think 44DD was as bad as people make him seem, he was just put in a role that was too much for him. Put him in a role where he plays minimal at 5 on 5 and gets a lot of PK time and he'll be fine, I feel a lot more comfortable with him and Diaz as our 3rd pair than Bouillon with Diaz.

As for the thread my lines would be:

Bourque - Plekanec - Gallagher
Pacioretty - Briere - Galchenyuk
Desharnais - Eller - Gionta
Prust - White - Moen
Parros/Dumont

Markov - Subban
*Tinordi - Gorges
Drewiske - Diaz

*When Emelin is back put him with Gorges and Tinordi with Diaz

when I fiddle around with the roster, I always debate between these two lineups:

Pleks - Eller - Bourque
Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Morrow - Desharnais - Briere
Moen - White - Prust
Parros

Pleks - Eller - Briere
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Bourque
Morrow - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Moen - White - Prust
Parros

The problem is Pacioretty and Eller need a physical winger on their line, they by themselves cannot be the physical attribute of the line. Having that physical winger makes them more effective as it gives them the edge they need.

Prust is a good verstile complementary winger, but not enough upside to break top 6. If he were:

Pleks - Eller - Bourque
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Prust
Morrow - Galchenyuk - Gallagher

Flag boys: Desharnais and Gionta

I like where this is going. I might tweak it even further, though:

Briere - Plekanec - Jagr (yeah, I know... Briere on the first line...)
Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Morrow - Eller - Bourque
Prust - White/Dumont - Moen

Desharnais and Gionta chucked off a pier.

You have Plekanec on the wing.....just as unlikely as having DD on the wing.

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gallagher > Gotta give triggermen for Pleky to pass to
Galchenyuk - Briere - Bourque > Or Bourque - Galchenyuk - Briere, same difference.
Prust - Eller - Gionta > 2-way line. Eller gets extra PP & PK time.
Moen - Desharnais - White/Parros > Meh.

I disagree with you on the 3 lines play equal minutes. They don't and they didn't. MT will split playing time as much s possible but there is a large quantifiable gap between the ice times players play. A. Gally and Eller had way less toi than their 1st line computer parts.

Secondly, even if you think Bourque was more of a power forward, Patches was our top goal scorer this year (Ryder split season) and top point getter this year and top 2 or 3 last year. I like Bourque as much as the next guy but Patches is far and away the better player.
After Pleks and Gionta, the ES TOI splitting players wasnt that big. Even with them, the Top-9 was generally between 11 and 14 minutes. The special teams ice usage is where the gap becomes big.

With what we have now:

Maxpac - Briere - DD
Chucky - Eller - Gallagher
Bourque - Pleks - Gionta
Prust - White - Diaz / Moen /Parros

Really our problem is on the RW. Teams are able to lock us down because there is always a small guy coming from there. We don't have a size problem we have a size problem on the RW.

If we widen the option list a bit, we have Gallagher, Gionta, Briere, DD, Leblanc, Collberg. I believe this creates an opportunity for Leblanc, while not a lot stonger than others, he plays with some sandpaper and could be part of the answer. Could Bourque play RW with consistency is the second question. Then you could have something like.

Maxpac - Briere - Bourque
Chucky - Eller - Gallagher
DD - Pleks - Leblanc
Prust - White - Gionta / Moen / Diaz

This is very different lineup in behavior to what we had last year. I think DD is better sheltered with Pleks, and Leblanc could really change the big picture(he needs a huge camp). Suddenly we also have a strong 4th line. I just don't want to see Moen again used in an offensive role just because of his size. Notice that I'm not trading anyone because that is the unlikely scenario. When Collberg is ready on the RW, McCarron will also be ready imo, so I'm less worried about that part of the future on the RW. Leblanc needs to play, he's the biggest positive change we can make if he plays within his limits, at talent level.

Don't count Hudon out either. He could be the big surprise this year, I've been impressed with how his talent scales at every level.

Tinordi - Subban
Markov - Emelin
Beaulieu - Gorges
Diaz

I know the Beaulieu inclusion is aggressive, I think it's needed, we might lose Markov by the end of next season, or at the deadline, Id rather have some miles in a guy that could replace him. Tinordi with Subban, give me a break, he needs to play a lot and now. With Subban playing 30 min with PP time, that will give about 18-20 min to Tinordi because you can use Gorges at the end of the games.

Parros will replace Moen when we are playing against teams with pro goons such as Toronto, Buffalo, Boston, etc.

When Emelin returns is going to be interesting to see what happens. I would assume the Gorges-Subban pair will still the same and Emelin will be with Markov. The choice then is to send Tinordi back down or let him play with Diaz so our power play won't get hurt and that means Bouillon will be sitting out.

Top of my call ups for forwards would be Leblanc, Bournival, Thomas, and Dumont.

For defence Beaulieu, Nygren and for goalies Tokarski

I predict the lines will be something like this to start the season if the roster remains as it is:

Bourque-Plekanec-Briere
Pacioretty-Desharnais-Gallagher
Galchenyuk-Eller-Moen
Prust-White-Parros
Dumont

Subban-Markov
Gorges-Diaz
Bouillon-Tinordi

I advocate as much as possible to have 2 centers per line. Putting him on the wing doesn't mean he's a permanent fixture there. We have the luxury of many centerman.
