When Pasta is back , 1st line or with Krech?
I feel like Heinen has cooled down a little (the whole line did actually)
Johansson?

I think Coyle centers the 3rd line (we are still missing a top6 but it is what it is....)

Backes on the 4th?

Was a quote the other day by Cassidy he will be putting that big line back together so you know the 1st line.

I can’t see Bruce playing Cehlarik in the playoffs you can tell he’s not a big fan

We can argue about the actual combos, but these 8 guys are for sure in the top 9 when the team is healthy:

Marchand, Bergeron, Pasta, DeBrusk, Krejci, Heinen, Coyle, Mojo.

Which guy completes the top 9?

Backes: he looked useful with Coyle in one game, and the Vegas game was probably his best. Gets paid a lot and the team might want him to do well so they can trade him this summer. On PP2, but should be replaced with Mojo and Coyle joining.

Kuhlman: He keeps looking like what Marchand looked like on the 4th line when he first was called up to me. A tenacious aggressive skater. Can PK.

Cehlarik: big bodied guy who has had chemistry with Krejci in the past with give and goes and the cycle. Does not play on special teams.

Nordstrom: defensively responsible vet that can skate and PK.

Stempniak: he has played professional hockey, is right handed, and won't make a mistake. Shouldn't see him on special teams.

Other: Or someone I am forgetting.

I think the same as you (about Cassidy in the PO) although I’d try Cehlarik on the 3rd and play Backes instead of Acciari I think

I think they all get games in, rotating over the next couple weeks to see who meshes and all.

Right now I'd lean towards Nordy because he's a vet and can PK.

I expect Bruce will give Backes every opportunity to earn that spot, and he may be effective playing sporadically (i.e. limit the miles he puts on the frame over the next few weeks and he might get more energy). Cehlarik is going to be the people's choice for his offensive ability, not sure he's consistent enough to hang if he can't do the PKing that Nordstrom can.

Kuhlman showed promise, but he's probably out of the equation unless he does something amazing. Stempniak is the Gionta role where you hope you don't see enough injuries for him to have to play there.

Coolio. Kuhlman

But I think they give Backes some sting there, initially. Just a hunch.

Here's my lineup when healthy

Marchand-Bergeron-Heinen
JD-Krech-Pasta
Cehlarik-Coyle-Mojo
Nords-Kuraly-Wags
ex: Acciari, Backes, Kuhlman

I honestly really like Kuhlman and what he brings with his speed, tenacity, skillset... but I don't think they'll play him over some of these guys that have been here all year.

While Pasta is hurt

Marchand-Bergeron-Heinen
JD-Krech-Mojo/Coyle
Cehlarik-Mojo/Coyle-Backes/Kuhlman
Nords-Kuraly-Wags

Trying to do this, it's clear that we have some depth and options.

Well, celery man is still the left wing on your third line until Pasta is healthy to me, Nordstrom is a good reserve guy but I'd rather he sits than Cehlarik, Coyle prefers center and I thought looked pretty good against STL
(when Pasta is healthy)

Marchand - Bergeron - Johansson
DeBrusk - Krejci - Pasta
Henien - Coyle - Backes
- the untouchables -

Cehlarik and Kuhlman were sent to Providence after the trade deadline.

Was it only a paper transaction so they are eligible for the AHL playoffs? We shall see.

I think Nordstrom does

he hasn't scored a point in like 15 games... or ever since his return from injury

he had a decent start...scoring pts here and there

but since then, zero

Bruins don't need this

This said.... injuries are bound to happen between now and highly intense playoffs

I think they needed to send someone down to process the trade because they were at the roster max. Same thing that happened with Coyle the other night. Kuhlman's probably back there for a while. I think Cehlarik was a paper transaction in case they want him to play in the AHL playoffs.

Whoever can get it done 5 on 5. I'm pretty confident Backes can't, but it sure looks like he's going to be given the chance. Hopefully others are given equal opportunity.

Coyle can PP and PK. Don't need Nordstrom in there at all unless someone from the 4th line goes down. Cehlarik is the most equipped. Ideally it's a right shot RW though.

I give Backes a couple weeks to figure it out and pray that he can get it going. The experience will be handy in the playoffs. If not, pray that the Nordstrom from October reappears.

Cehlarik with Kuhlman right behind him.

I have Nordy ready to step in on the fourth if any of them aren't bringing it in particular Acciari.

Backes should never play another game for us again unless a ton of injuries strike. Next year I send him to Providence if the cost to move him is too high knowing that we can send him to Seattle in a year so they can reach the cap floor.

Cehlarik imo.

Marchand-Bergeron-Heinen
Cehlarik-Krejci-Pastrnak
DeBrusk-Coyle-Johansson
Kuraly-Backes-Wagner
Nordstrom/Acciari

Kuhlman to Providence, give him top 6 minutes there.
