Wouldn't be surprised if Zadina and/or Veleno are on their way out. Used CapFriendly to make a lineup and Veleno was already not on there due to not being signed yet so went with him being out. Either way whoever stays between the two will probably be a scratch anyway.

I'm hopeful for something like this opening night no injuries, 2 and 3 can be interchanged, I know Fabbri being 4C probably won't happen. Would Hope Ed can make it even tho he's not listed.
Seems realistic and fun enough considering the situation.
Way too many waiver exempt kids in that lineup.

We have the bones of what could be a fun to watch roster. But the kids won't be up til "vets" fall over.

Dream D to start the season too

Let me have this glimmer of hope, damn it!

Don't see Kasper on opening lineups. Maybe in the season he could get a callup.
I don't expect it, but would love it.

But for example my lines would be pretty similar, Copp to 2C, Perron to 2RW, Sprong to 3RW and Fischer to 4W.

Not super inspiring but it is probably better than what we ended last year with. Ed being injured takes a bit of the sting off the D signings. No room for Soder or Kasper though.

Kuba-Larkin-Ray
Bergy-Compher-Perron
Ras-Copp-Fabbri
Kostin-Veleno-Sprong

Seider- Walmn
Ghost- Maata
Holl-Chiarott

Husso
Reimer
This seems like the actual Stevie Y/Lalonde opening night one to me.

At forward I see it being pretty much like Henkka said:

Fabbri-Larkin-Raymond
Kubalik-Compher-Perron
Rasmussen-Copp-X
Kostin-Veleno-Fischer

I think X is a battle between Berggren, Zadina, and Elmer

Edit - whoops forgot we signed Sprong too, lol

On defense what I would like to see is:

Walman-Seider
Edvinsson-Maatta
Ghost-Holl

But I’m not sure how to make Chiarot disappear/vanish just yet.

Yep, barring a trade that packages a couple players, all the people who are waiver exempt will be starting in GR. :(

I see a lot of lineups with Edvinsson, but he hd shoulder surgery in May and is out 4-6 months. We likely won’t see him until January.
He had surgery May 2nd. He should be at training camp. Probably non-contact like Copp was til the very end.

The surgery wasn't injury related, so if there was any doubt about his fall availability they would have shut him down earlier than they did.

I say again, this team doesn't look AS bad as the knee jerk reaction said it is. Are we world beaters? Absolutely not. Are we tougher than last season? Absolutely. This team could shut down and grind out wins, and should be over .500 to end the season.

If Kasper is good enough in camp he will be in the top 9. It's easy to just send down Zadina or Veleno.
Fabbri - Larkin - Raymond: I love this first line, especially with a big jump from Raymond and hopefully a healthy Fabbri.
Kubalik - Compher - Perron: Good second line, gives Compher every opportunity to match his career year.
Copp - Kasper - Sprong:
This is a line tailored to ease Kasper in his rookie year. Hes got the vet that can take draws in Copp and the guy that can work with him offensively in Sprong.
Kostin - Rasmussen - Fischer:
Veleno is old news. We have an excess at C so lets use it. This is a big mean fourth line. Just give Ras some PP time as well.

Yeah. This is a hockey team with better role players than we had at last season.

They can do damage like Seattle, if it's coached well and has good system.

Biggest push would come from some young player we can't predict yet.

I’m just going to assume Fabbri will break every bone in game 1.

Fabbri-Larkin-Raymond
Kubalik-Compher-Rasmussen
Sprong-Kasper-Berggren
Kostin-Copp-Perron
Fischer

Walman-Seider
Ghost-Maatta
Chiarot-Holl
Lindstrom

Husso
Lyon

I’m still holding out hope that Yzerman will swing a trade for someone like Nylander. I can dream. I imagine it would require Berggren + significant futures at the very least.

I also think by the end of the season Kostin will have worked his way into a top 6 role. Have a good feeling about him.

The big internal improvement scoring wise is gonna have to be Raymond. He's the big if. Dude is so young with so much potential. He just has to hit it. His performance will determine if we make the playoffs.

Don't forget Berggren. Had 28 points in 65 games in his first season, not too shabby. I estimate him at 40+ for the 2nd season, if he doesn't miss games.

You need to actually watch Seattle play. They are a fast team that wins by outscoring their defensive mistakes. No way this lineup can score on transition, play a fast paced game, or outscore their own mistakes.

If this team wants to win, it's gonna be by playing like the Isles. That means Chiarot has to get his head out of his ass.
