Final lineup of what I hope to see by end of training camp: We shall see what happens during the camp and who could be pushed out.

Line 1: Ras - Larkin - DBC
Line 2: Berggren - Compher - Raymond
Line 3: Perron - Copp - Fabbri/Sprong
Line 4: Kostin - Veleno - Fischer/Sprong
100% agree with these lines.

If Kane signs, we'd have to shuffle it around. At 34, he's getting third line minutes and PP time. Wouldn't want Perron, Kane and Copp on the same line, though.

People worry just too much about that 7th D situation.

History has proven that you very rarely get your optimal Top6 on the ice. There's always injuries, there's back to back games for rotation etc.

I once counted an average, how many games Red Wings 7th guy played (years 2005-2015) and it was something like 57 games on average.

Also, 8th D usually had played 15-20 games, so there's one 82-game "guy" missing from Top6 through the year.

This situation will be sort out when they'll start playing games. Someone will get hurt. We don't know who. But some will. There will be pre-season groin problems etc. We see that happening every year.

BUT, when you have extra depth to replace this unnamed guy having an injury, your season won't get f***ed up for that. Our team level does not change anywhere if 1 guy is missing, with the current deep D-core.

If you don't have this depth, your season will blow up for injuries. This depth is needed because they want to reach the playoffs. It's a sign of real team.

Only thing what is "sure" for me is Larkin as top center and lower-line winger pairs.

Just too many possibilities to complete the lines.

X - Larkin - X
X -- X -- X
Berg - X - Sprong
Kostin - X - Fischer

Can't wait for the camp to start and see what Lalonde will have on his mind. We have very nice mix and depth of forwards.

Combinations used at pre-season:

DeBrincat - Larkin - Perron
DeBrincat - Larkin - Raymond (2 games)

Larkin and DeBrincat does not have ES goal scored yet. They are negative at 5-on-5. Great work on the power-play, though. That looks dangerous.

Rasmussen - Copp - Perron (2 games, not so good yet)
Rasmussen - Compher - Perron (was great)
Fabbri - Compher - Sprong
Fabbri - Copp - Danielson

Berggren - Danielson - Sprong
Kostin - Veleno - Fischer
Kostin - Veleno - Berggren (scored only goals at Chicago trip)
Kasper - Veleno - Fischer
Söderblom - Kasper - Berggren
Söderblom - Danielson - Hirose
Berggren - Danielson - Hirose

Walman - Seider (2 games)
Edvinsson - Petry (2 games)
Wallinder - Gostisbehere
Määttä - Gostisbehere
Määttä - Holl (2 games)
Wallinder - Holl
Chiarot - Holl

----------------------

More of Griffins possible lines:
Söderblom - Lombardi - Czarnik
Söderblom - Lombardi - Hirose
Kasper - Anisimov - L'Esperance
Doucet - Anisimov - L'Esperance
Hanas - Czarnik - Gettinger
Hanas - Stevens - Shine

Edvinsson - Rafferty
McIsaac - Rafferty
McIsaac - Wallinder
Johansson - Rafferty
Johansson - Tuomisto
Johansson - Didier
McIsaac - Didier
Viro - Didier
Viro - Newpower

So with this normal NHL roster they used these lines:

DeBrincat - Larkin - Perron
Rasmussen - Compher - Raymond
Fabbri - Copp - Sprong
Kostin - Veleno - Fischer
(Berggren)

That pretty much looks like the starting lineup. Lalonde already confirmed that 4th line is gonna start on thursday.

Don't also see any reasons to fix that offensive Top9.

PP units on last game:
1st PP
DeBrincat - Larkin - Perron
Seider - Gostisbehere

2nd PP
Fabbri - Compher - Raymond
Sprong - Petry

1st PK
Copp - Compher
Walman - Seider

2nd PK
Rasmussen - Fischer
Määttä - Chiarot (and Gostisbehere)

3rd PK
Kostin - Veleno
Walman - Seider

Pretty sure Justin Holl will change these PK units, should be at 1st unit. And Gostisbehere never plays PK in real games which will matter.

Starting Top6 defence will be interesting. 8 options with Edvinsson and Holl in the mix.
