Are any current Canadian pro arena's receiving any public money/ were built with portions of public money? Or is this more of an American trend?

Melnyk sold a bunch of his horses for 5.5 million or so. Either he needs lots of money in a hurry or he needs to cover more losses (either Senators or elsewhere). He also was interviewed on BNN and jokingly threw out there that he only wants to talk about money if someone is buying the team.
