I really could see an 11F / 7 D approach

Domi Matthew Bertuzzi
Willy JT Marner
McMann Kampf Knies

Jarnkrok Holmberg

You move McMann and Knies up/down based on score with Jarnkrok and Holmberg.

Defense

Rielly Boosh
Edmundson McCabe

Bertuzzi-Matthews-Domi

You have your net front presence in Bertuzzi who is still skilled enough to make plays. Domi is your primary set up man, and with these 2 guys on his line, I feel like it'll bring out more of the physicality in Matthews

Mcmann-Tavares-Marner

Mcmann is your Hyman on this line. Has the speed and skill to forecheck and retain the puck. Marner is the set up man, and it gives Tavares 2 solid defensive wingers.

Knies-Nylander-Jarnkrok

With 3 line matchups, this line should be able to dominate. While it's not ideal to have Nylander at center, having Jarnkrok on this line gives him some support in the defensive zone.

Holmberg-Kampf-Dewar

A solid shutdown 4th line who can pitch in with some offense as well.

Defense-
Rielly-McCabe
Benoit-Liljegren
Edmundson-Brodie
Lyubushkin

Healthy Scratch-
Robertson
Gregor
Reaves
Timmons
Sounds good to me!

From what I've seen so far. If Brodie is to steal playoff minutes from any of the other defenseman in the lineup, it should be Lyubushkin, not Benoit.

Benoit has been here all season and been a top 3 defenseman for us. It wouldn't make any sense to favour Lyubushkin over him.

I would try this for a few games before the playoffs.

Bert Matty Jarnkrok
Knies JT Marner
Domi Holmberg Nylander
McMann Kampf Dewar

Problem is we do not have a good enough #3C.

I would say that any of the three players you have on the third line is likely a better 2C than Tavares at this point. JT is our "good enough #3C".

I don't think it matters folks.

That Jersey game told me so much. The nature of this team hasn't changed one iota. They have the same heartless, selfish and undisciplined "leaders" who have "failed to launch." Like you folks I was so full of hope and so excited about this teams future, I was practically counting the SCs. However slowly but surely the true nature of some of those players started to reveal itself. The GM from what I could see, wanted to be one of the guys and so didn't do the franchise any favours when getting people to buy in.

I dont see anyone stepping up in the absence of some regulars which goes to character. Winning is what they're supposed to do and what they're supposed to want, but I don't see it with these guys. I dont think I'd care a whole bunch nor sacrifice myself for guys who only seem to care about themselves and the goals they might score.

I think they need to cut out the rot and start over.

If they make it to the 2nd round I might be back

Two of the leaders didn't play in that one.

IMO five years of Dubas hockey has given many Leafs fans PTDSD. Hopefully we can recover now that Tre is here. I'll still be watching hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

Anyone advocating for JarnCrap on the 1st line is either an opposing fan trying to create the weakest possible lineup for Toronto or just flat out has no clue what they’re talking about.

Apparently everyone has also forgotten the chemistry that Matthews and Marner have. WTF would anyone want to split those two up? Bertuzzi has been playing great over the past month or two and should be paired with those two.

Tavares is hopelessly slow footed to be playing on a #1 or #2 line.

Dropping Nylander - - a 40+ goal scorer and one of the most explosive players on the team - - down to the 3rd line is something that would only happen in an NHL24 video game.

People leaving Brodie out are insane. He's 2nd on the team in TOI for the season and led the team tonight.

Defense will probably be
Rielly - Brodie
Benoit - McCabe
Edmondson - Liljegren

Gio may take Benoit's spot, although I hope not.

For forwards, assuming everyone's healthy, I think we can assume a top 6 of Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares, Domi, Bertuzzi.

Other locks are Kampf, Jarnkrok, Dewar (PK), Knies, and McMann. Leaves one spot for Holmberg, Reaves, Gregor, and Robertson (probably in that order).

Nylander cannot play Center and will not in a series imo

Bertuzzi - Matthews - Domi
Knies - Tavares - Marner
Jarnkrok - Holmberg - Nylander
Dewar - Kampf - McMann

I don’t particularly like Holmberg at 3C but Nylander should be able to carry the line

The third line is interesting.

Nylander can score on his own.
Could work if lines 1 and 2 do their job.

I would have Marner on the 3rd line before I put Willy there. Willy is a much much better playoff performer then Marner
