We've done the Bettman/ new fans 2005.

Keeping it simple might just be the way and stick with the times, Back2Back, Counting with Drac, Three Peat, Underdog and even give it a twist with Jaded's add of 125 years of hockey in Pittsburgh.

Why can't we use'em all? The file will support it. Requests will be left to a single frame with endless options. Just will have to incorporate some of this stuff into a single frame and have them lined up in the perfect order to just tick people off.

Like first and Second frames, Drac counting 3 - Pete's, (two Pete's on second frame and 3rd Pete on third frame.)

Third Frame, Everyone's personal slide here.

Forth frame, 125 years of Pittsburgh hockey with Stanley cup playoff logo and UNDERDOG.

I like the 125th anniversary of professional hockey in Pittsburgh as it is a positive message, and we are going for history again with the third cup in a row. And it is versatile. Because that is a lot of history.

As I said in my first post, One frame could be 125 years of hockey in Pittsburgh.

One could be a historical fact. Duquesne Gardens. The Hornets. Michel Briere. Mario's first goal. The Pens first cup. The possibilities are endless.

The last frame could be current Pens posing with the cup with three peat over them. Like the one above.

We probably could swing a fith frame to add that stuff, but Believe has been done before.

Nope. That's on the money. It's a way to bring in the three peat without actually saying we will.

I am missing why you would change 'Peat' for 'Pete'. Three-Peat is a play of Repeat. But you change the name to Pete because .... I am missing it and likely will feel stupid when it is explained.

We had a 125th anniversary of professional hockey in Pittsburgh before? That is a pretty huge milestone, and I would enjoy playing it up for the reason that few in other cities have a clue that professional hockey in Pittsburgh predates professional hockey almost anywhere including many Canadian Cities.

You can use three different Peter's and count them or three different pic of the same Peter, or like I did here below, I did two Peter Dinklage's in Movie roles and one he did as a character voice over.

No. I said Believe has been used before. Kind of old and tacky.

This was from the Aussie Rules football team I support. They put one of these posters in the next days paper for the winning team so it only comes out after. I was lucky to witness one threepeat. Here’s hoping for another.

Jaded,
Schenley Park Casino used one of the first artificial ice surfaces in North America.

Pittsburgh first indoor ice rink that burnt to the ground a year after it was built, and then Duchene Garden came about.

I am not averse to different ideas btw. I just am not enamored with any of the others so far. At least this one is a positive message and honors a couple of real accomplishments, 125 years of Pro hockey and the chance of a three-peat.

I in fact hope that a better idea is offered though.

Maybe we should pay homage to the catylist of the recent penguin's success. A time in penguin's history so important, that without it, we wouldn't even be talking about the potential for three in a row, let alone 4 in the last decade. As penguin fans, we love to look back and reminisce at this fond time in our history. That's right, I'm talking about the complete failure of the X Generation, a group of players whose failure was so bad, it brought forth the greatness we know today.

We should pay tribute to these players, because we wouldn't be where we are without them. Not sure what the layout would be, but the tacky lettering and colour would help to enhance the experience. Maybe you pick your favorite x gen star and a modern equivalent. For example, you could write Rico Fata in a panel and show a picture of Kessel. Koltzov would make a good Hagelin. Lemieux could be press box Lemieux. Olczyk is Sullivan. McKenna could be Oleksiak. You get the idea.

Besides, a lot of the Penguin's recent success can be attributed to their development system, which is a far cry from what it was in 03-04 where we saw guys like Meloche, Hussey, Murley, Surovy, Kraft, Beech, etc amount to little in the NHL. So this would also be a shout out to the improvements in the organization as a whole.

BRO...Nac Bomb...yo...FAILURES? You forgot Morozov yo! He was so good he quit the loser NHL!

I mean, I guess he was there before those guys, but he was about to take off in the midst of Gen X! The wiley veteran the new guys could look up to.

It could tie into the history of the team... injuries, shitty rebuilds, Letang's brain... and incorporate the proper amount of snark while reverse jinxing how incredibly fortunate we've actually been as fans of this team.

Maybe it sucks, but I don't love any of the other ideas and thought I'd toss one out there. Plus, Airplane and Lloyd Bridges are f***ing awesome.

Maybe something to do with the hunger games?

So... what you really mean is, Let's do a mocking avatar with what you just wrote minus the "this could be the year to do nothing...." and "give the rest a chance.....ect.", then add at the end a whatever looking pic.

That's just what will do. I love it.

Frame 1, Nothing special about winning the cup, (Penguin logo with eye looking at us) then have the second sentence flash in " we just won two straight."

Frame 2, "I'm tired of winning, I would need to build another shelf.... or new trophy room ."

Frame 3, personal frame (photo's of all our souvenirs or just photos of them from interweb)

Frame 4, Gasp pic

Your name is fitting, Master.

I'll work on one tonight unless Degenx or another wants to give it a go.

I like the idea of something around "been there, done that". Yawn. Another year, another cup run. Something in that ballpark.

This has potential…
Geno with “Russia is nice this time of year”
Kessel with “I could use some rest”
Sheary (or whoever the scrawniest player is) lifting the Cup with “That thing’s pretty heavy!”
Murray or Sullivan with “Gotta lose sometime”
That infographic of Sid’s accomplishments before age 30 and Sid with a “Meh” face
Sid+iPad with “I just found this new game...”
Mike Lange with “Out of ideas for parade speeches”
Pens fan or pic of ticket with “My wallet could use a break”
50th anniversary logo with 4 Cups and “Already can’t show them all”
Shultz/Dumolin/Matta drinking at parade with “This could become a problem” or “My liver needs a break”
EDIT to add: 93 Isles logo with “Every team has a Volek” or “History’s against us”
Letang with “Lost a step or 5”
Ryder71 could obviously use “No chance, horrible defense”

For those who want to troll other teams...
Bruins logo with “At least the Cup will still belong to black&gold!”
Caps logo with “3rd round, here they come!”
Flyers logo with “It’s gonna happen sometime”
Nashville with “They’re a better hockey market anyway”
Fleury in Vegas jersey with “He is the good luck charm”
Cole in Cbus jersey and “Unstoppable with him”

I think mine would be a picture of the arena in yellow and “Been there, got a million T-shirts”. (My family has season tickets and there are seriously sooo many...we gave away a big pile of shirts and still have a ton)

Love Jaded's for many reasons. If we want to be sarcastic - we can make up history. If people want to pay homage to history in Pittsburgh, they can. It could really open up a lot of potential.

And I LOVE that 3elieve part.

In fact.. even if it was something simple so we could get them out quickly as it looks like we have some photoshop issues this year.

1st slide: (black background/gold penguins font) - "Hockey's first retractable roof"

2nd slide: Picture of Mellon Arena

3rd slide: the 3elieve image (just the players cutout/word)

I think that would be insanely pleasant on the eyes, very simple to understand, and awesome.
