You can't have expensive players missing games. He's been declining in games played
You mean like Geno and Sid? Maybe we should trade them for more bottom pairing dmen and a couple more 13th/14th forwards. Speed and lack of skills will lead us to victory.

Apparently, a plethora bottom pairing dmen and fringe forwards will lead us to the promise land.

Horny didn't get worse even strength. He wasn't being used as much on the powerplay (the effectiveness of the powerplay with his usage was shit) and the coach refused to use him in the top 6 anymore. At that point as a GM you have no choice but to move him because now you've got a 5m/yr bloke that is a powerplay net front presence that isn't getting much success there because your coaching staff is dumb as f***, and you're seeing him used on the third line with a bloke the coaching staff can't figure out if he's a center or a winger.

Yes he did, his analytics declined from "extremely strong possession driver both offensively and defensively" to "completely average both offensively and defensively". Hornqvist isn't a bad player right now, but he's a fringe 2nd/3rd liner now when he used to be a legitimate 1st liner He has clearly lost a step there.
