I thought they signed Riikola for some insurance if Dumo just isn't a top pairing guy or worse. I expect him to be ready but man he looked bad in the playoffs. His strength is his skating and any erosion of that is just going to reduce him to what exactly.

Whitney's feet and ankle problems were genetic, he was born with them, Dumo's were sports related, not exactly the same thing.

Dumoulin is also a smart player so when his body does heal, he’ll still be a damn solid player. Whereas, Ryan Whitney was a f***ing moron that just got lucky with the right powerplay structure.
