He certainly stays on the right side of the puck / man at all times. Lots of stops/starts.

85% starts in the defensive zone is brutal. I know Sweden misses a few players tonight due to sickness. Lets see if he gets put in a more offensive role.

I’m noticing that this upcoming draft seems really weak after maybe like the first 20 picks or so. Does that seem like the consensus? There seems to be an uncharacteristic lack of draft-eligible prospects in the WJCs, and a few OHL & WHL players I’ve seen play that I thought might be late round gems for the Penguins are slated to go no later than in the 2nd.

I do like Fagemo for Sweden. Undrafted last year, small, but he’s quick and pretty noticeable even if he isn’t finishing. He also has 5+5 in SweHL this year. Maybe in the 4th or later I’d take a flyer on him. Both he and Hallander are young enough to be on next year’s WJC squad.

Team CAN shouldve taken Addison.
Best PPQB in the country under 20, imo.
Took big lugs andor defensive defenseman instead with the exception of Ty Smith.

You can see why Hallander gets attention for his defense. He's hounds people to get the puck back.

Draft Fagemo and teach him how to elevate shots and you’ve got another Arvidsson.

Looks like the Press-Gazette - and Bill Guerin have Kasper Bjorkqvist the #1 prospect in the organization right now. He's having a very good year in his junior season at Providence College.

Dave Molinari: Kasper Bjorkvist takes top spot in Penguins' prospects breakdown

That is really, really surprising that they have him at #1. Like I wouldn't have guessed that, even with his great season. Hallander seems pretty clearly #1 to me.

But looking through the list, Guerin has it:

1. Bjorkqvist
2. Addison
3. Pavlychev
4. Angello
5. Hallander
6. Lafferty
7. Bellerive
8. Almari
9. Phillips
10. Miletic

I feel like HF would roast this list

Palvychev so high and Bellerive so low really popped out to me. Palv doesnt seem to have much upside, from everything ive read, people have him becoming a bottom 6 player at best. Obviously a 6'8, skilled center is very valuable but Bellerive seems to have alot more offensive potential.

How exciting that Post-Gazette's blocking all attempts to connect from Europe.

Anyway... gotta respect the fact that he's closer and better informed, but that list feels a bit size queen.

HF def would roast it. HF also had Guentzel as a puny kid at #20 who wouldn't crack the minors :eek:o_O

Weren't you giving me a hard time about ranking Angello too high in our prospect polls? :naughty:

I agree. I thought Hallander/Addison would be in the top 3. I'm excited about Pav's season but it seems a little premature to rank him up there?

Guerin's rankings seem to be geared toward who could make an impact the quickest mixed with the skills/maturity each have.
Guy like Bellerive is gonna need seasoning in the A.
Kid like Hallander is a ways out too.
Whereas a kid with Addison's skill could jump up quickly once his junior career is over in a couple years.
