D´Orio must have felt he accidently got thrown into a beer league game since he only faced 19 shots. He should be used to se 2-3x that amount.
ha saved 18/19 btw for a 6-1 win.

also, when is the trade deadline? i was really hoping he would be traded so we could see how he looked behind a half decent team at least.

On a side note I'm really liking the William Reilly pick. He's having a pretty good season too.

Most fans here are high on Clayton Phillips, but I have a feeling Reilly will become the better of the two.

Nikita Pavlychev 18GP 10G 10A 20PTS (NCAA)
Kasper Bjorkqvist 16GP 8G 7A 15PTS (NCAA)

Hopefully, GMJR can get this pair signed at the end of this season.
Agreed on signing both, even though they're only juniors. I'd probably sign Reilly too.. and bring Hallander over.

He was supposed to play this month, but December is almost over and we have yet to hear anything from him. Dude can't get healthy.

Great. I suppose the best case is that he’s healthy but can’t crack the lineup... I feel sorry for him but ffs.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the later round picks turned into something decent. Phillips may or may not be better than that player but he’s 2 years younger than Reilly so I don’t expect we’ll find out soon. At least Reilly and Phillips aren’t in the mold of doing nothing offensively at lower levels.

Not going to read too much into it, but Hallander looks solid defensively but isn't showing anything offensively.

Good news is he's being trusted with PK unit minutes and late in games when holding a lead. Bad news is he's nowhere to be found when Sweden is looking for offense.

Because his line mostly plays defensive situations and gets zero offensive situations. Then its pretty hard to get something going. I think its weird how they use him tbh. In Timrå in the SHL(probably the 2nd best league outside tje NHL) he plays top minutes, 1st powerplay and is 2nd in points among juniors behind Bemström. He should be in a top line for sure, but the coach in Sweden apparently have his favourites. Thats how it is, but dont worry about his offensive play, because it is really good. Most important is that he have an offensive role in Timrå.

Good to hear. It would be great if he developed into more of a middle six forward than a bottom six one.

Yeah his line doesn’t get much going offensively and their shifts are kept insanely short.

Bellerive got an assist late in the 3rd so he must’ve stayed in the game.

Him getting traded is still almost a certainty.

He’s been on fire lately, though I don’t have any exact #s.

Updating box stats - doing this month's first, then totals at the bottom. Spoiler alert - you might need shades if looking west.

WHL

Jordy Bellerive (C, Lethbridge) GP11 G7 A13 P20 PIM8 +9
Justin Almeida (C, Moose Jaw) GP12 G7 A14 P21 PIM2 +5
Calen Addison (D, Lethbridge) GP11 G2 A12 P14 PIM4 +2

The return of the Jord. An explos... better not use that term with him. But very good. Likewise Addison - one can only presume Lethbridge had a good month. Ditto Almeida. Fantastic start to the monthly stats.

QMJHL

Jan Drozg (W, Shawinigan) GP5 G1 A1 P2 PIM6 -3 (WJC D1B GP5 G4 A8 P12 PIM14 +3)
Zachary Lauzon (D, Rouyn-Noranda) - GP0

Poor month for Drozg in the Q but rather predictably tore D1B to pieces (5 points ahead of 2nd highest scoring forward in tournament) with a decent 3 point improvement on last year. Lauzon is yet to play but his return is meant to be really soon. Yes, that is copy pasted.

D'Orio is not in monthly stats as I can't figure out how to do them. See below for updated totals.

SHL

Filip Hallander (W, Timra) GP4 G2 A1 P3 PIM0 -1 (WJC - GP3 G0 A0 P0 PIM2 -2)

Nice pick up before off to the WJC to play a shutdown role.

Liiga

Niclas Almari (D, HPK) GP11 G1 A1 P2 PIM0 -3
Antti Palojarvi (D, Lukko) GP8 G0 A1 P1 PIM0 +1 (U20s - GP5 G0 A0 P0 PIM4 -1)

Both guys logged a decent amount of senior minutes; it would be nice to get more scoring but there we go.

NCAA

Nikita Pavlychev (C, Penn) GP5 G3 A0 P3 PIM4 -2
Kasper Bjorkqvist (W, Providence) GP5 G2 A5 P7 PIM4 +5
Clayton Phillips (D, Minnesota) GP5 G0 A1 P1 PIM4 -3
William Reilly (D, RPI) GP6 G1 A1 P2 PIM8 -2
Ryan Jones (D, Nebraska) GP5 G0 A0 P0 PIM4 -5

Bjorkqvist continues to heat up. Pavlychev slowed down, but is still at an exciting pace. Our dmen just slowed down.

USHS

Liam Gorman (C, St Sebastian's) GP?

EliteProspects isn't updating so I've got nothing

Total

WHL

Jordy Bellerive (C, Lethbridge) GP35 G17 A28 P45 PIM32 +10
Justin Almeida (C, Moose Jaw) GP29 G11 A37 P48 PIM4 +7
Calen Addison (D, Lethbridge) GP35 G6 A33 P39 PIM34 -5

Almeida and Bellerive sit at 13th and 14th for scoring respectively. Almedia is 5th for assists, Addison 9th and Bellerive 14th; Addison is tied 1st in dman scoring, although he's played a lot more than Ty Smith.

QMJHL

Jan Drozg (W, Shawinigan) GP29 G9 A23 P32 PIM22 -17 (WJC D1B GP5 G4 A8 P12 PIM14 +3)
Zachary Lauzon (D, Rouyn-Noranda) - N/A

Alex D'Orio (G, Saint John) GP24 GAA 4.48, .883%

Drozg is tied 22nd for assists. D'Orio's stats went up .004% and we continue to pray for his release.

SHL

Filip Hallander (W, Timra) GP23 G5 A7 P12 PIM2 -5 (WJC - GP3 G0 A0 P0 PIM2 -2)

Tied 77th for points in the SHL overall, Hallender is 3nd for points (but 2nd in ppg) and for assists among players under 20, 5th for goals, and 5th for points on his team.

Liiga

Niclas Almari (D, HPK) GP21 G1 A3 P4 PIM2 -2 (U20s - GP2 G0 A1 PIM2 +3)
Antti Palojarvi (D, Lukko) GP12 G0 A2 P2 PIM0 +1 (U20s - GP25 G4 A6 P10 PIM8 -4)

NCAA

Nikita Pavlychev (C, Penn) GP18 G10 A10 P20 PIM20 +3
Kasper Bjorkqvist (W, Providence) GP18 G9 A9 P18 PIM8 +11
Clayton Phillips (D, Minnesota) GP16 G1 A7 P8 PIM10 -4
William Reilly (D, RPI) GP14 G3 A5 P8 PIM10 -2
Ryan Jones (D, Nebraska) GP17 G0 A4 P4 PIM16 -15

Paylychev is tied 17th for scoring in the NCAA, Bjorkqvist tied 34th. Paylychev is tied 15th (with a lot of other people) for goals, Bjorkqvist tied 25th. Phillips is tied 11th for points among U20 dmen.

Bellerive is now on pace to match his 92 points from last year, could still crack 100 points if he remains injury free.

Remember Connor Hall?

Yikes, Connor Hall and Zach Lauzon in back to back years. Hopefully Lauzon will play again as I'm guessing Hall's career is done though he could go play hockey for a Canadian University. Can't imagine it is easy to rehab both shoulders.
