The "rest" argument isn't crazy under the circumstances. Normally that sort of thing would happen later in the season, but we're not dealing with a typical schedule.
Still. One's a dot, two's a line and three's a trend. I'm skeptical that a hot streak and condensed schedule are enough to justify not rotating 3rd pairing defensemen for this long.
