He's likely referring to how people (like Russo) tend to highlight Fiala's turnovers but mostly ignore turnovers by other players.

Fiala has to pass a bit more and not play so much hero puck.

The problem with covering your 5-hole is that your shoulder/elbow is up, which isn't a natural position. It's common for your elbow/shoulder to drop bringing your stick out of position. - It's a subconscious thing.
