I'm going to put my wish list in for local Dorchester, Ontario, kid Boone Jenner from CBJ & 6' 2" / 207 lb & Age: 27.

Versatile forward that can play both C or Wing, and can both provide offense and used as a shutdown or checker/PK and provide a little sandpaper in the process through physical contact and your prototypical playoff style performer.

Not a pure rental as he has current year + 1 @ $3,750,000 remaining on his current deal.

How about a 3rd line of Simmonds --- Jenner --- Hyman for a playoff run?.

That line would not get outworked by anyone and would be a pain-in-the-ass to deal with particular on the cycle and aggressive forechecking.

Leafs should be all in on Hall.

The guy has something to prove heading into FA next summer. Adding him to a top 6 that includes Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Nylander would be potent.

If there was a lineup to increase his value Toronto has it.

I watched him last weekend .. stay away far away ... he is not like he was in OHL Cup days like a monster on da puck ... he looked like he was waiting for others to do da work and pass it to him

Tulloch: Elliotte Friedman put out in his 31 Thoughts column that the Leafs are rumoured to be interested in half of the league — Mattias Ekholm, Filip Forsberg, Mikael Granlund, Eric Staal, and for some ungodly reason, Marc Staal’s name was thrown in there as if he is still an asset in the NHL. That confused me. Which of those names intrigues you the most? We haven’t even mentioned Taylor Hall.
Petrielli: Anyone who doesn’t say Filip Forsberg is kidding themselves.
Tulloch: If Taylor Hall is an option, I would personally lean in that direction over Filip Forsberg. First of all, I think left wing is a bigger need for the Leafs. I also think Taylor Hall is a better player in a vacuum.
In the last couple of years, it has been really difficult to measure Taylor Hall’s impact. If you look at his five-on-five metrics with Jack Eichel, they have been great. If you look at shooting percentage, it hasn’t been great. If you look at him in Arizona, there are indicators that show that the quality scoring chances he was generating should lead to points in the future, but the players he was playing with weren’t converting on those chances.

"Top 7ish" is a pretty funny phrase.

Is Kerfoot "Top 7ish"?

Do we trade for Andreas Johnsson who is "Top 7ish" with zero points in his last 5 games?

I like LeBrun, but I certainly hope "Top 7ish" dies a quick death. It's a pretty silly thing.

Yea, it's a weird term.

I think the key is heavy on the puck. We need someone who will win board battles, be physical in front of the net and play reasonable defence. I think some quickness is essential too to keep with the model of the team in that sense. A slow plug is not what we need. Even the guys who are tentative on our roster (Vesey, Boyd, Engvall, Petan) all have quickness to their game. Some are useless, but its a core piece. Is there a stat on puck battles won? If there is I would almost guarantee that is very high on Dubas' list of qualifications.

Would absolutely love to get Boone Jenner if he ever becomes available; he seems to be Torts identity player.

Kerfoot has to go the other way for the money to work. If I am the Sabres and you are forcing me to take Kerfoot and retain 50%, then I want a top pick and/or prospect.
I dont think their will be enough of a bidding war for them to ask for much even@50% retention

Kerfoot for them is a very useful player who can be their go to checkin g 3C and can help them next year trying to give cozens/mittlstad offensive opportunities while he takes on defensive assignments

I think price would come around

Kerfoot + 2021 1st + SDA

Hall@50%

Which I would pay

If any of the big 4 prospects are requested I walk away and look at a different option in a trade

Sabres are having a horrible year and will be desperate. Hall hasnt had the production this year and he will surely walk as a UFA so they want some assets back for him.

Unless a higher bidder comes to raise the price that's the max I think they get

Torts may be out in Columbus by the end of the year. They are looking for a Centre. If Kerfoot is used in a deal for a top 6 forward with term and we need cap space, I would dangle Nylander in the off season for Jenner, Foudy and Elvis. Not sure of that is too much or too little. The Nylander fanboys will definitely say no way.

Does Granlund check all the boxes?

Something tells me he doesn't.

I don't think we see one trade. I think there will be two. I do not know how KD will make it work, but he has a cap specialist advising him. Those corporate dollars hopefully will be well spent.

Toronto needs a Tampa-like deadline: Coleman and Goodrow rounded out the Lightning's roster. Dubas needs to do similar (but different).

The idea of Wood or Debrusk on this team makes me wanna puke. Pearson, Rakell, Staal and Hall are intriguing I still think Hall can be a productive player, the poor guy has just had to play on absolute shit teams his entire career, I feel terrible for him. Gets moved from one garbage team to the next, I would love to see what he can do surrounded by talent.

RE: Hall
This year is 100% on him. He decided to sign in Buffalo, nobody forced him.

That's a little strong. Why would it make you puke?
